Wouldn't recommend at all. Had my 327 small journal FULLY rebuilt here. Spent over 5000$. Was told by these guys to take it to dales and get it broken in on the dyno. Did just that. Put the motor in my 65 beaumont SD, drove it nice and easy for the break in period. Found that driving anything more than 100km the motor burned enough oil it wouldn't have ANY on the dip stick. Took the car down to head and block. The 3 guys come out and have a look, start by telling me my exhaust is too small. Car has a 3 collector with oversized headers to begin with. 2.5 inch from collectors back. They then say it's a vacuum issue. Hmm

Last year Head & Block built me a near original 302 engine for my 68 Z. They were very helpful, knowledgeable, thorough and fast. I wanted to stay as close to 68 Z28 specs and that is what they did. When dyno'd, it put out 333hp and 312torque which is higher that than the original 68 302 specs. The engine is still running fabulously. So tight and so torquey. Thanks Darryl, Dave and John. Went to Head & Block Specialty to pick up my rebuild 1981 Camaro Z28 small block chevy motor . The motor was done to the spec's I asked & was completed with great professionalism. The employees there were curtious & polite & answered all my questions for break in of my motor. They also said that if I had anymore questions don't hesitate to contact them. I haven't broken in the motor, but I stand a great chance of having success with this rebuild.

Went to these guys with a Head and Block from a Nissan SR20DET. After they performed the work (Decking the surfaces, honing the bores) which only took 2 days, they informed me that one of my main bearing surfaces on the block was damaged (not something they did, was already there).I asked if they knew this before doing the machine work, and they did not. I was a bit upset, because I may not have gotten the work done to the block had I known it needed further repair. John at the front desk realized that I was upset and took it upon himself to adjust the price substantially to reflect this.Based on my experience with these guys, they went out of their way to help me and provide me with speedy service.
