Dog Centered

We adopted a young rescue pup that didn’t have a lot of socialization in his early months, resulting in some stranger danger and overall fearfulness of new things. We did six walk-and-train sessions with Shelby and the difference was night and day! Our pup went from being too nervous to enjoy walks, to loving them! Shelby’s positive-based training methods were exactly what he needed to make positive associations with the outside world. We can now walk by others with zero reactions and more importantly, our pup is more relaxed and confident! She also taught me a lot, which has helped to curb some of his unwanted behaviours at home, including reacting to people he doesn’t know in the house, and barking at noises in the yard. Shelby always had my dogs best interests in mind with her training, which was not only effective, but is also helping me build a strong relationship with my pup. I cannot recommend her enough.

Shelby is wonderful to work with and has tremendous experience and knowledge, which she shares at every lesson. She has given us and our new pup a great start as we build our skills and relationship. Not to mention, she is one of our pup’s favourite people in the whole world! I highly recommend Shelby for dog-centered, and relationship-focused training. We had, fairly recently, moved to the Chilliwack area and didn't quite know which trainer to go with for our new puppy, but after some time looking at a variety of trainers, we decided that Shelby was our best option as she uses positive, force-free, reinforcement (and what little puppy doesn't love treats!). She took the time to listen to our current concerns while establishing goals within our time period for training. She has made tremendous change within not only our pup, but also how we want our relationship to be with him! Shelby is very kind and considerate (and very patient!) which is always beneficial to sometimes stressful situations while learning. Our pup always looked forward to his training days with Miss Shelby" and while we have finished our first training package

Shelby made the training relaxed for all of us. Our dog absolutely loved her and responded super well to the training.

Max and I have really enjoyed our training time with Shelby.She is a very kind and considerate person and has shown me a new way to enjoy walks with 6 month old Max again. I would highly recommend her and it is comforting to know that if any more little problems pop up I can contact her and she will help solve them - Max and I thank you very much Shelby !

Shelby is the most wonderful caretaker for our dog. We trust her fully, she is reliable and professional in her services. We have worked with her for several years now, and our dog cannot wait to get out of the car to spend the night at her house. Shelby is experienced in training dogs, making them feel comfortable and confident and understanding their needs. Her services go way beyond “dog boarding” ... after spending time with Shelby our dog is better behaved and never shows signs of a bad experience (like we had with a traditional boarding center). Overall, 5 stars for sure!

Shelby has been amazing with my sweet puppy. Maeve gets so excited when she sees Shelby and she doesn’t even look back for me when they leave for training, so I know she must have a great time! Her confidence is growing, and I’m so happy with her ability to engage better with some distractions now. I appreciate the handouts Shelby provides so I can work on things with Maeve myself too. Thank you for loving on my sweet goofy girl, and letting her learn at her own pace!
