DON'T go work there! My partner was hired as a second yr apprentice.When hired he was told it was a family oriented business with room for learning and training opportunities. He got there and TOM his supervisor, was constantly on his back and didn't giving him insight or taught him anything. My partner went to work everyday and was open to constructive criticisms but was let go a few days before his 3mths probation with no notice. They never gave him any headups to step up his game or that it wouldn't work. No warning. They didn't even call him to the office, just told him it was his last day during a random conversation. They basically just told him he wasn't the right caliber mechanic they were looking for. You know what people? When you hire a second yr apprentice, you don't get a journeyman! Apprentices need to be taught, guided and trained. The management sucks, DON'T go work there cause they will likely let you go like you're a nobody and you don't actually have a family to provide for. My partner was the 4th person they let go in a row. Obviously, TOM has unrealistic expectations for his apprentices!

Had my driveway paved, I wasn’t home as I figured they should know what they are doing. Was I wrong, when I got the quote I asked they guy do you want to mark this so we have something do go on when I get the quote. He was like no no I got it. So I get the quote and tell them to go ahead. I come home after work and the driveway isn’t what we discussed or even close too. They were to make it wider and gave me the exact same as I had before. And I get you supposed to bring it up to grade but you would think they would give you 6 inches ov gravel on either side of the driveway. They didn’t! Sloppy sad job from a company you would expect more from. I recommend getting them to mark out what you agreed on before they pave, then make sure your home when they come because they will try and scam you out of what you discussed. Less driveway for same price. Sad. Then first winter a crack goes right across the driveway. And do you think you can get any warranty work, nope. They won’t return calls and look for any garbage excuse not to fix it. Pathetic!!!!

This company looks like it’s got too big for its boots and don’t really care about the safety of its roads and community. I had a huge rock hit my car tire after falling from one of their trucks on hwy 29 and after many emails and no reply finally got a very short abrupt email saying they are not responsible and it is an insurance job!! Well I had my two kids in the car!! It could have caused me to swerve and lose control and yet you don’t want to take any responsibility for your trucks!! My brand new tire was blown out!! You should be ashamed! I’m a single mom and it wasn’t worth the deductible I had to pay but looks like this is a common reoccurrence with your company!!! Shame on you!!

Poor workmanship and quality driveway completed by Cavanagh Construction. They competed a new driveway for me and it is stained brown/grey with roller marks and I have been informed that this is normal and “should fade away with time”. I did not expect a new driveway to look so poor 1 day after they competed the work.

This company I don't have a problem with in general, but one of its flag man. Today November 14 2016 they were finishing up paving work today around 2:25 pm in Smiths falls ontario. It was brockville Street they were on we had just left sfdci high school I drive school bus. Going north on brockville st. For some reason the flag man thought I was going to fast #1 35to40 km is not to fast!! Moved his slow sign a bit stepped towards the school bus and spat his gum at the bus as we drove by in the opposite lane!!! Are you serious??? He is one lucky person to be gone when we came back through an hour later, as I was going to be stopping and looking for the supervisor. SPITTING ON VEHICLES AS THEY DRIVE BY , VERY CLASSY CAVANAGH CONSTRUCTION COMPANY!!! Never recommend that company!

This company took twice as long as expected to complete the paving. Moreover the quality of the Job was much below expectations. Their price was higher than a competitor, but they were engaged on the basis of their reputation. We would not use this company again.Treasurer,Rideau Non+Profit Housing

Flatbed truck speeding 100 km from Almonte to Arnprior and 80 in a construction zone throughing stones broke my windshield and fog light. Called company they said they would pay for damages THAN RENEGED saying they never got such a call. truly are you calling me a lier"? Very disappointed with a company that should stand behind their word."

They don’t make any attempt to secure their rocks on their trucks or to clean them off. Flying off at 100 km/h on the highway and chipping my windshield and hood of my car. SOOO DANGEROUS. And to top it off I called and absolutely nothing will be done from this. If I could give 0 starts I so would. Nothing against their work just their cleaning and how they deal with THEIR mistakes :)

I work closely with Cavanagh for the most part so I have never really had a problem at work but at home it's a nightmare. Not only is the car bottoming out on the driveway because they neglected to put enough stone between their new sidewalk and curb, they also mangled branches and left them hanging over a driveway and sidewalk low enough that it is in the way of pedestrians and the vehicle. They also left spray paint cans and trash on the lawns over the weekend so anyone could just nab them and destroy some property. Like I said, great to work beside, but as a homeowner I can't believe the poor quality their work space is after they have left...
