A ghostly past at this spot.Dec.4/1868 Peter Kakua murdered his wife and in-laws.He was charged and convicted for murder in a court in Victoria.Pet was a miner of Hawaiian descent. His wife was aboriginal,Seems the lady wanted to leave a abusive relationship.Being neither Caucasian nor First Nation descent no one wanted him buried in their cemetery for his heinous crime.Kakua's body was buried but dug up and moved to a unmarked grave at Kanaka Bay on Newcastle Island.

Our cottage is on gallows point. It is like a dessert oasis of the island and a great place to watch boats coming into the Nanaimo harbour front the sandy beach

It is an awesome place to visit from Nanaimo. Just 10CAD per person for up n down ferry from the Nanaimo waterfront. Nature lovers would love it here.
