We got our beautiful 5-year-old rescue pup Samsy through the foster-to-adopt program offered at Paws for Cause Animal Rescue, and it was truly the best experience. After reaching out to several rescues around Ottawa, we decided to go with PCAR because their style was really personalized. Marie took the time to build a tailored approach with us so that we would be matched to the perfect pooch, and sure enough, she suggested that we foster Samsy, who fit right into our family!Under the care of PCAR, Samsy was transitioning from living on the streets to living a domestic lifestyle and walking on a leash. As expected with any rescue pup, we faced some challenging moments during our first months together. However, with every issue that came our way, Marie and the team were just one text away from timely support, advice, and recommendations on all topics imaginable. Any time we had questions or concerns, PCAR would reply to us as soon as possible, often within minutes. Their support really made a huge difference.We were first-time dog owners and knew that we had much to learn in order to be the best companions possible for Samsy. To that end, PCAR offered us free training sessions with Josée, who is a joy to work with (a true magician and dog whisperer)! She really understood the psychology of our dog and the dynamics of the relationships surrounding her, and was rapidly able to suggest many easy-to-apply strategies to overcome obstacles. Building trust step-by-step and overcoming fears formed the most precious bond with our furry friend.It has been a true pleasure adopting our dog through PCAR. The rescue is so well-coordinated by Marie, and, based on the sheer happiness and beaming smile on our dog’s face any time she sees Marie or Josée, we can tell with absolute certainty that PCAR provided the best, most dedicated, and most compassionate care possible. We felt immensely supported throughout the entire foster-to-adopt process, and were pleased to learn that PCAR sticks around after the adoption is finalized. We love our Samsy to pieces: she is the best addition to our family that we could ever dream of, and we feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to experience such a beautiful journey with Paws for Cause Animal Rescue.

Highly recommend using this company! During the Holidays our cats were checked on and everything replenished and cleaned while we were away. We received pictures of our guys to know everything was going fine. Knowing that we had an amazing cat sitter who the cats seemed to love and that 25% of our payment was going to rescues made getting a professional sitter an easy decision. The free consultation where our cats got to meet Marie showed us just how caring and prepared she is as well as how much our cats were already comfortable with her! I will definitely be using this company again next time I have to go away! Thanks again for taking great care of our guys!

Marie and the gang have been amazing and helped us find our furever companion Lucy. From starting with Fostering to adoption, they hellped us all the way (and even drove me and Lucy across town to the vet!)We cannot recommend or sing enough praises for the ladies working at this rescue. Marie took care of my cat for weeks while I was home for the holidays. She was absolutely amazing. She is reliable, professional, kind, and took excellent care of my cat. Marie sent me photos of him every time she visited, which helped ease my anxiety about leaving him for so long. I will be booking with her again and would definitely recommend her services to my friends and family!

Marie is absolutely amazing! She was very professional and reliable, and made sure to make a personal connection with us and our cats. She sent us photos and texts every time she visited our boys, which really made me feel at ease with having to leave them for the holidays. She took very good care of cleaning the litter box and food and water dishes as well. We were gone for about 2.5 weeks, and the place was clean and odour-free! On top of the amazing service, 25% of the payment goes to a rescue organization, which speaks to the passion and care Marie has for animals. I would absolutely recommend Marie to anyone who asks and will definitely be using her services again!

I had the absolute privilege of fostering (and ultimately adopting) through Paws for Cause this past year. Every single person I interacted with throughout the entire process was lovely and obviously extremely dedicated to the animals in their care. They have been so responsive and helpful - always available to answer my first time kitten mom questions - and they took amazing care of Elliot at all of his veterinary appointments and especially at his neuter. I cannot recommend this rescue highly enough!

Marie is absolutely amazing in her care and compassion for pets, especially cats and dogs. Marie combines her love of animals and acquired skills to offer the best possible professional pet care. I have seen her work with not only my two dogs but numerous animals of various sizes, temperaments, and needs. She approaches them with calmness, confidence, and a high level of competence. Marie is phenomenal. I have two very high every puppers, and have tried a few walkers in the area. Marie was so quick to respond, and is very accommodating to my crazy schedule. She is a great communicator- I always know when she's at my place, and she takes adorable pics. Most importantly, I know my dogs are safe with her and are getting great exercise. She handles the high energy pups VERY well. Reach out to her for a meet and greet and you'll be sold, I promise you. It's such a relief to know I have a passionate walker who truly cares about my pups!
