Chartwell Hilldale Retirement Residence

My loved one stayed at Chartwell Hilldale for 16 days for a short term stay. He was included in the activities, singing along with the Christmas carols and other events. I highly recommend this Residence because the staff goes above and beyond to help our loved ones feel at home.

Chartwell Hilldale has a very helpful, responsive and supportive management team. Rena, Kaitlin and Shane made setting up a short-term stay suite for my mother a very easy process.

I am currently a recreation therapy student at Confederation college, and was lucky enough to be placed at Chartwell Hilldale Retirement Residence to gain experience in the field. Being around the hardworking staff, and friendly residents makes me feel very grateful to have this opportunity. I have learned so much from the helpful, knowledgeable staff, and seeing how happy the residents are always puts a big smile on my face. I hope to have the opportunity to come back to Chartwell Hilldale after I've completed my placement!

This retirement residence is perfect for my parents. The staff is very friendly and professional at the same time. They definitely care! They are attentive and meet the needs of the residents right away, if at all possible. Best move my sisters and I could ever have made. Beautiful building. We are all very happy with our choice of retirement residences…( Hillldale already has an excellent reputation and rightly so)!

The staff is always so helpful when we moved my dad into Hilldale Chartwell . Especially Keri was always available to answer questions.,

We moved my parents into Chartwell Hilldale recently. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Sami, the caretaker, even put together new furniture for my parents. The meals, by my parents account, have been very good. Although they were hesitant about leaving their home, my folks are happier and more relaxed than I have seen them in a long time. Having them in such a wonderful facility with such attentive staff is a huge relief to me.

As an out-of-province family member I am very grateful for the regular and excellent communication and updates regarding covid and special activities provided by Collen Fayle. I am also particularly grateful for Rena Maxwell's kindness and warmth and for the introduction of video chats. It has truly been wonderful to see my mother face-to-face and really get a better sense of how she is faring in this challenging time.My mother has recently made a move to long term care and I wanted to commend the staff at Chartwell-Hilldale for the care they have provided to her while she lived there for 2 1/2 years. It will always be appreciated. I do want to mention Rena Maxwell in particular. Rena’s is the kind and friendly face, warm and compassionate manner and strength of support and character that I will always associate with Chartwell-Hilldale. Rena went above and beyond to ensure that my mother was welcomed with warmth, genuine friendliness and kindness when she moved into Chartwell-Hilldale in October 2018. She ensured that as family members we were included in my mother’s transition to her new living situation. Additionally Rena's kindness and compassion were very much appreciated during my mother's medical crisis. Thank you so very much.

I have been coming to Hilldale for quite a few years as an outside support worker. The staff are amazing and are dedicated to the care and comfort of all the residents living here. My clients love the entertainment that comes weekly and the food is great!

My Mom has been at the Hilldale Residence for 6 months now. She is happy and content here. Even though they have been short staffed nothing has been neglected. The staff is super friendly and always have fun and interesting events for the residents. Family is included whenever possible. From the moment you enter the lobby you are greeted with a feeling of coming home.
