Ray officiated our wedding in November 2022. Ray was absolutely wonderful to work with. He guided us through the entire process so expertly. He supported us with creating a wedding that felt personal and true to us. We would highly recommend his services to anyone looking for a genuine and kind officiant.

We cannot recommend Rev. Ray Cross enough! Due to covid, we had to postpone our wedding three times and Ray was very quick to respond with his availability and was flexible with us rescheduling. He ensured that our ceremony was perfect and added both humour and sentimental touches. Many of the guests expressed how much they enjoyed the ceremony and complimented Ray’s personality. Ray made our rehearsal fun and ensured that everyone felt confident in what they were doing for the day of the wedding. Ray, thank you for everything! We couldn’t have asked for a better ceremony.

After reading many positive reviews, I was happy to hire Ray in 2019. We were forced to cancel our original wedding in 2020 due to the pandemic, but finally celebrated in August 2022. We set clear expectations for Ray (reinforced at the rehearsal), outlining that he must not deviate from the ceremony script. The words prepared were meaningful, no need to add more. It was an exceptionally hot day, no need to make guests linger longer. Ray ignored our wishes, talking at length about things completely irrelevant during our ceremony. He even brought up his own family’s history with domestic violence… which, I gather was formative to his experience, but has no place in a marriage ceremony for two other people. He also pronounced our daughter’s name wrong, despite it being repeated many times before, and the phonetic spelling provided in the ceremony script. Multiple guests remarked they were absolutely stunned by his “performance.” He has a definite “flair” that some people may find endearing, but we felt his approach was outdated and out-of-touch. I was so caught off guard by the deviations from our ceremony script, I found it hard to focus on the momentous occasion before me. It’s a shame that his lack of professionalism, despite years of experience, muddied such a special day. Please consider an alternate officiant if you’re looking for one in the Durham Region.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. My husband Brandon and I were married by Rev. Ray Cross on September 4, 2021. Ray was an incredible officiant; engaging, personable, funny, and respectful. He set the tone for our whole wedding, and all our guests continue to tell us how well he conducted the ceremony. From a logistics standpoint, Rev. Ray Cross was incredibly responsive throughout the whole process which I highly appreciated. He took the time to get to know my husband and I via Zoom (COVID times), and made sure every step of the process was clear, from initial meeting, to the ceremony itself, to post-ceremony. His Brides Candy Shop" was also very helpful and provided us with lots of ideas for music

Rev Ray Cross officiated our wedding in June 2023 and my husband Connor and I are so happy he was apart of our special day! Ray was so sweet, caring and thoughtful throughout the entire planning process and helped us create a ceremony tailored to the two of us. He was very responsive and gave clear, detailed instructions on everything that went into the marriage license and certificate. On the day of our wedding, he was very accommodating and delivered an exceptional ceremony - many of our guests commented on the wonderful job he did! We can’t thank Ray enough and would highly recommend him!!

Our May 2023 wedding officiated by Rev. Ray was just what we were hoping for. Rev.Ray was funny, kind, warm, and clearly explained everything we needed to do regarding license and getting our marriage certificate. He accommodated our non-religious ceremony request and will have a ceremony the way the couples prefer. We highly recommend him.

His communication was clear and his prices were very reasonable. He has a large amount of resources that provide guidance and allow for customization of the ceremony. My husband and I enjoyed going through the different options to build a ceremony that was perfect for us. Ray did a fantastic job of delivering the ceremony. Ray is absolutely fantastic! He is so humorous and professional. He ensured we were prepared for our wedding and helped us plan the ceremony. REV. RAY was amazing! He was very sweet and explained everything to me thoroughly. We had a costume party wedding which he was very enthusiastic about and made a few cracks at during the ceremony. He kept it light and interesting which is what was important me. My family said they loved the ceremony so that made me very happy. I knew i liked it!
