I started working with Charina while navigating a peak transitional point in both my life and career. After working in Healthcare for 10+ years, I wanted to transition to becoming self-employed. As though that weren't enough I was also navigating a move to a new country. Accustomed to the structure of employment and entrenched in the demands of shift work, I found myself overwhelmed at times and adrift unable to maintain traction in my new venture. Charina helped me to clarify my values and build a vision from which subsequent decisions could follow. She assisted me with short and long term planning, task prioritization and accountability. From the conception phase to the execution phase, Charina has been an incredible resource in my journey. I believe what I've appreciated most about Charina are her no nonsense questions that have propelled me to consider alternatives. Our work together has been instrumental in my growth and sucess. As a mature student entering graduate school with a lot of my colleagues 30-40 years younger I've felt very intimidated. When describing this feeling to a professor, he identified it as Imposter Syndrome. Soon after, my school, Adler University, offered a several week-long workshop on this topic led by Charina Cruz. I felt so validated taking this workshop. Charina was so encouraging and really listened to those of us in the workshop. I highly recommend the Imposter Syndrome workshop that she provides.Having had a positive experience with Charina, when she offered a resume-building workshop, that also touched on developing a web presence, including LinkedIn, I signed up without hesitation. Having written several resumes over the span of my life, it's always great to learn something new and I certainly did, as times change quickly in the world of employment. It was great to do this refresher with Charina.As I'm nearly finished with this my graduate degree, I may get in contact with her to coach me a little more for to update my resume & web presence again. I recently contacted Charina to do a Resume and Coverletter writing workshop for a conference (2500+ attendees) in Vancouver. Charina was a delight to communicate with and book in. The workshop was really well attended and was very informative, unique, interactive, and high energy. Our attendees learned about how to write a resume with a goal in mind and how to get the most value out of a cover letter. We had a line up of attendees waiting to ask Charina follow-up questions after the event. The most notable aspect was how well Charina adapted her material and advice to our chemist audience. I look forward to working with Charina again!
