Been going for years and while the selection is limited (it's a small local hardware store after all), the convenience factor is high. Went in yesterday to get some 20 cents/piece cotter pins and the owner spontaneously gave them to me free. That says it all.

I skipped Home Depot and came here hoping to find the friendly and knowledgeable people I used to see here. Apparently they’re gone. The staff member I approached made no effort to advise me.

I just witnessed someone driving the Pollocks Home hardware pick up truck (who I am assuming was the owner driving) along Sunnyside and Constance, aggressively cutting off a cyclist while screaming at her with his window down (not paying attention to driving/ what was infront of him) telling her if she doesn't know how to ride a bike she shouldn't be on the road". He continued to drive down Sunnyside screaming at her and aggressively driving besides her/ pushing her into the curb with his truck. You just lost a customer with this kind of behavior. I don't want to support a store where the owner is treating people in the neighborhood like this

I rented a rug cleaner, and the cleaner was well priced and did the job. The staff was a little dismissive when I picked the machine up and were not keen to provide instructions.

Horrible experience. The “children” who cash you out are unprofessional and too busy socializing with their friends who come in a busy during work hours. Only go here Because of the convenience. Otherwise I would avoid it all together!

I needed cedar mulch to fill out the last 1/4 of my garden. Their cedar looked REALLY dark compared to all other places I’ve bought. I asked for help and was assured it was only dark because it was wet and would dry out very light and be identical to what I had. I bought 3 bags, laid it out and now that it’s dry it’s like 2-3 shades darker than everything I have. My garden looks TERRIBLE because now I have mixed colours of mulch. If you need any kind of trustworthy advice on what to buy from your home you likely want to shop at a different store so they don’t sell you the wrong thing

This is a traditional neighborhood hardware store, not big box chain store.It has a pretty good inventory and the staff are available and friendly.
