Have used the Downtown Garage numerous times and again recently for all of our family vehicles. I go here for the excellent service and because the shop manager is honest and fair. Has always helped me by recommending cost-effective maintenance for our family vehicles. Definitely recommended for anyone looking for a good mechanic shop!

The Downtown Garage by Big O Tires
We took our 2009 Subaru to the shop in May 2021 to have the timing belt replaced and were initially happy with the quick turn around and the $1100 we paid. In June 2021 during the heat wave we were driving and our car sputtered and steam and fluid started pouring out of the engine. We took it to a different shop and they told us that when the timing belt had been done the engine had been put back together out of alignment and one of the fans was clipping a radiator hose which eventually split spraying fluid. It cost us $380 to repair, however I never followed up because life got busy and I figured it was an honest mistake.Now, Sept 2022 we have our car into a different garage to have other work done and get a call that there’s $800 worth of additional work to replace parts that have broken in the year since the timing belt went in because they were not installed correctly including using the wrong bolts (see attached video).UPDATE: the shop got back to me and paid for the work it took to fix their past work and let us know the mechanic who worked on our car no longer works there.

Great service from these gentlemen. I was asked to bring it down early and my first instinct was, oh good, it will sit in the parking lot all day but no. My truck was serviced within the first hour and a half and I was driving away within two hours. Very impressive. Plus both people I dealt with took the time to explain what was done, in detail. I recommend this service shop.

Superior service, highly recommend. My 26-yo daughter recommended them because they don't talk down to her as a female. This is accurate. Kevin explained the issues and the solutions with clear (not baby) language to my problem. He was very patient with me and answered all of my questions calmly. Tyler (?) was also a lovely young man who was kind and attentive to be and other customers. My in-town friends confirmed that they trust Big O. Definitely suggest you use their services!
