City Optical

I had a pleasant experience at this City Optical location. They were helpful, kind, and gave me what I needed. It's a no frills type of business. If you go to Lens Crafter you'll get similar frames for much more money. If you approach them with kindness and respect that's what they give. Despite the negative comments about City Optical, I was happy with their service.

The staff there were very nice and helpful. I dropped off my prescription and I received a call 2 weeks later for pick up. It was quick and efficient.

I was hesitant to go to this store because of the reviews I read here in google, but the weather was bad, and it was the nearest my place so I decided to go anyways. I lost my glasses and needed a new one immediately. They managed to give it to me the very next day. I would say they delivered an excellent service and deserve this 5 shining shimmering stars. There's a sweet old lady named Anna, if I remembered her name correctly, who shared her fascinating story back when she was a young student, and just starting out in the city like me- made me feel at home while waiting. Honestly, they made my day! Thanks guys!

Been a few months since I went into this location for glasses. Firstly, I was shopping around and this was the only location where I was greeted by someone almost immediately. She was busy with other customers and politely asked me to have a look around ..she would be about 5 minutes. Happy I did. She assisted me in my purchase..2 pairs of prescription glasses, 1 regular 1 sunglass style. Designer frames. Under $500. Can't complain about that. They were nice the whole way through and very helpful when I picked up my glasses. Thank you for the grear experience

The lady there has no sense of customer service. She talked to me like she was scolding a child. She sounded impatient and rushed. She just wants to grab your money. The glasses I bought from there 1.5 years ago are already broken. The left temple is hanging sideways off its hinge - it is close to just snapping off completely. When I went back to ask if she would repair them she refused to even acknowledge that the hinge was broken as she couldn't see anything". She was her usual rude and impolite self and just brushed me off by saying that "even if something is wrong" I would need to get a new frame and "pay more". Then she literally turned away and started shuffling her papers. I have been wearing glasses for 15 years and I never had a pair that lasted such a short time. I'm never ever going back there and I don't recommend this place to anyone."

I got the best pair of glasses yet. The person I dealt with was amazing, very knowledgeable, explained everything, My glasses where ready in 3 days from the eye exam upstairs to the time I picked them up. Its been 7 months now and My gasses are still comfortable with no problems. Thanks City Optical.

WORST EVER Please do not got to city optical, all they care about is taking your money. I recently got my glasses done picked a pair of frames that were $600, my prescription is high so they suggested to pay extra money to have the glass thinned out, which i did. I go to the location on pharmacy and Eglinton and honestly Dollar store has better looking glasses. The glass was popping out of the frame.I addressed the issue to Catherine who refused to give me her name but she forgot she had mentioned it earlier, she said they can't do anything about it. Very unprofessional and terrible service she was being very rude. They gave me head office number but nobody answers the phone it goes into voice mail you leave a message and still no call back. Overall Please if you value your hard earned money don't got to city optical because you will be throwing it away. There is a reason they ask you for money up front because if they mess up they will not do anything about it because you have paid in full already. They deserve 0 stars. Oh yes i forgot to mention in compensation Catherine offered me a free pair of lenses. Which by the way are a trial pair that are given out for free anyway. 13/08/2014

Very shocked to see such negative reviews. I've had nothing but positive experiences here. While their selection of brand name glasses could be increased, they do have the common name brands and many budget brands as well. I've been purchasing glasses here for two years and they are always so friendly and courteous, always willing to go the extra mile for their customers. On both occasions I've shopped for frames, they remained open past closing to accommodate me.

CITY OPTICAL SERVICE SUCKS!!!!!!!!Went to the one on Dufferin.. Worst customer service.. 10 Days to fill a dam prescription. Store very dirty looking. Staff knowledge sucks. They never answer there phones and when they do, They keeping saying glasses not ready we will call you.. I have been waiting 2 weeks. Also ONTARIO WORKS send there clients there for free eyewear. CANCEL THERE CONTRACT...I will never deal with these clowns ever
