Churchill station is located at the heart of the city. Walking distance to the city hall, city center mall and public offices.

As a traveler to Edmonton, I decided to try the lrt and happen to used this serviced at 4:00pm and there were like 100 or so homeless hanging around the library and lrt and the city centre mall which we also visited. There were lots of garbage and smell of urines and who knows what on the floor. Just be careful at night time do not look safe compared to Asian countries I travelled to, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea and China.

Station is very old need to get update sooner. Have wired smell while walking down the stairs from the street. It’s very dirty and muddy in winter and they didn’t seems bother to clean it daily. Not a good experience. Plus very few security person in the station is not travel in companion I’ll feel unsafe.

First time trying out the local transportation it was clean and a enjoyable safe ride and easy to purchase a ticket at The Arc instant machine. $3.50 per person.Things to consider if visiting Edmonton and traveling via train is dress extra warm as indoor platforms of the train station is not heated.

Very typical of downtown Edmonton - Dirty, unsafe and a complete and total disaster from start to finish. Is it any wonder legitimate businesses are fleeing the core? And all within steps of City Hall.

Churchill Station
This is ground zero, the original LRT station built in 1978. And not much has changed. It’s underground. I have lived in Edmonton most of my life and I remember traveling on the LRT in 1978 and the same brown tile and cement walls. I use Churchill station every weekday as I work downtown so I come here often and I have always found the station easily accessible and convenient. I understand that because of the ground level Valley Line opening in 2020 there will be a large and airy new entrance to Churchill Station so looking forward to seeing that. There is access by underground pedway to several buildings and the Edmonton City Centre Mall.

Please maintain your elevators. I am an elevator enthusiast and I avoid these. They're disgusting and shifty.
