Ashby Grove

I started going to Ashby Grove approximately 6 months ago. My previous barber was out of the country and I needed a cut for an event. Hany was my barber that day, and I have been going to him ever since. Not only did he take impeccable time and care with my hair, he ensured I was comfortable and that he had a clear understanding of what I wanted. Hany is always professional and personable, I find myself talking to him about an array of topics, and he has a great positive energy about him. I highly recommend Hany for anyone looking for a kind, genuine, and professional barber.

ZERO star - this place is ridiculous! I bought a $80 gift card for my husband for Christmas. When I purchased it, I specifically asked if they do straight razor shaving as my husband has been wanting to try a straight razor shave. They said yes but to ensure to call ahead of time to make sure they have a staff available to do it.He has called serveral times and they kept telling him that they had no one as the person they did have no longer worked there but they would be hiring someone soon.He finally got it in and had his head done, bread trimmed and dyed.When he got home he looked like he got attacked. His head had cuts all over his head and it wasn't even shaved completely as it was not smooth.His bread was trimmed okay but the dye was a brown and it didn't even cover all the gray.Very disappointed.Do not recommend and will never be going there again.

The front desk has always been helpful with us. The shop always looks clean and we've had great interactions with all the employees. My son always wants a specific barber, so we always book with her. She's always friendly, and chats with my son the whole time. She always confirms the cut, and will give her opinion when asked.

I met Hany, one of the vet barbers there just strolling the mall. Friendly dude as ever, told him I was looking for a fade, he hooked me up! Even changed it up a few times and have been going to him the past year. He’s always got a smile, and ready to have conversations and get to know you better! Easily one of the top cuts I’ve received, and continue to get! Definitely recommend going to see Hany for any type of fade.

Booked a haircut for my son days in advanced. Came for our appointment on a Monday morning and waited 30 mins until someone saw us. My son is only 1 so.. sitting for 30 extra mins is a lot for a little one. Shop seemed dirty, messy and disorganized.The kid cut is also horrible! Completely crooked and off.. I would have been better off taking kitchen scissors to his head! Not a good place for kids or likely anyone ..

Took my son for a haircut and felt like our presence was an inconvenience to the receptionist. No eye contact, mumbling and hard to understand, then she charged us for an adult haircut instead of the student rate when my son is only 15. The haircut was about what I'd expect from first choice, not a pricy barbershop

Hany is phenomenal at what he does. Everytime i come here I request to have him cut my hair. He gives me the CRISPIEST fade’s and is super chill to talk to. I recommend all my friends to this place to see him.Thank you again for your phenomenal service buddy! Keep it up:)

Hany has been cutting my hair for about 3 years now, and he’s always done an excellent job. Janey has cut my hair twice and she’s very good too. I highly recommend Ashby Grove to the residents of the Waterloo region.

Hands down my favourite barber shop! I’ve been going to Hany know for a couple of months! He does amazing work and takes pride in his work! Very hard to find nowadays! Recommend this shop for anyone around K-W region!

They were able to take my 2.5 year old yesterday as a walk in client in the morning. The female barber we were paired with was so kind and gentle with him, listened to what he was saying and was engaging with him even if she didn’t fully understand what he was saying. She made sure she understood what kind of cut we were looking for, and included my son in the process explaining what she was doing to ensure he wasn’t afraid or uncomfortable. Thank you again!
