Curans Heart Centre

I had a requisition sent to this heart centre from the hospital after being admitted. I had to make 4 phone calls over 3 days to get a call back to make the appointment for the requisition. The information on my requisition that was faxed over was completely overlooked, however after requesting it to be looked into I was able to get an appointment. I was now already disappointed in the lack of service. So fast forward to my appointment I ended up with COVID a couple days before, so I again called to say I wouldn't make it and need to reschedule. I started calling the day before the appointment and for a further three days with absolutely no response. I am pretty disappointed with the administration staff of this heart centre, absolutely poor customer service.... If they ever get back to you. I would suggest avoiding this heart centre based upon my experience, you might be dead by the time they get back to you. I am also one to not put one star ratings, but based on the lack of service here this is the best I can give.

Was a great clinic, but the last year or more has gone downhill. Father has heart problems and was to follow with Dr. Lai every 3 month - no apt for well over a year! Called twice and receptionist wasnt very pleasant still no answers as to why. Disheartening.

Holy miserable receptionist. Anyone who is a patient here- beware of the horrible human who calls. I’ve never heard such rude, disinterested, lacklustre customer service until this piece of work and I worked with the public for decades. If I was a patient, and that’s how I was spoken to, I’d have lost my mind.

Unfortunately our experience with Curan Heart Center has been extremely frustrating. Very poor response times, having to leave messages and not getting call back resulted in required testing for appointment being missed. Zero accountability when speaking to reception. Extremely disheartened by the service they provide to their patients.

Front desk employees need to look somewhere else for work as they are not customer friendly at allThis place doesn't even deserve one star. If it's to hot in the kitchen don't become a cook.

If I can give a negative star I would. I have a procedure done at hospital and was instructed to follow up with DR. Called left message, 4 days later called again and left a little more firm message only to get a call back with attitude, I asked lady not to give me attitude and she hung up. So now no appointment. Not the place I ever want to deal with ever again.

Thunder Bay is fortunate to have Dr Mcdougall in their midst and working the schedule she does.I was airlifted in from Kenora and she saved my life with two surgeries on two different days and six stints later. She visited me in recovery at 9 o'clock at night. That's care and compassion right there.Back in November I had a follow up appointment at 4 30 PM and we were stuck on the highway due to two semis collision and road closed we sat for 5 hrs. I called the clinic just before 4 and left a message and also emailed them. Not 20 minutes later I got a call back and I explained the situation. Of course this was on a Friday. They called back after speaking with Dr Mcdougall and she agreed to wait at the clinic for me to arrive. When I got there there was a receptionist a ekg tech and a pharmacist and of course Dr Mcdougall. I was the only one they were waiting on and as each finished their task with me they went home. Dr Mcdougall didn't finish with me until just before 7pm. They were all extremely professional and super nice given they were giving up their off time for me.I was there for an appointment again this morning and found the staff and Dr to be very much the same professional and pleasant to deal with.This appointment was made for me back in November after my last appointment and I received 3 appointment reminder calls for it. So I thought I must have to confirm the appointment I called and left a voice message stating my name and date and time of appointment and confirmed I would be there. Didn't expect a call back but got one just the same.One should never take for granted what's in your back yard for services we are 6 hours away and make the journey willingly every year.Bless Dr Mcdougall and her OR team and support staff at the clinic I for one will always be grateful.

The receptionist were very rude, and absolutely miserable. I was not treated well I waited for over an hour past my appointment time.

Front desk employees need to look somewhere else for work as they are not customer friendly at all. Don’t answer the phone. Just rude when asking for info as it was my first time there. Just wow !!
