Dumpling House
Unassuming little eatery that offers incredible dumplings. We ordered three different cooked dumplings to-go (beef, lamb, pork). These were freshly hand made with perfectly balanced ingredients. We will return to try their other dumplings. If you like dumplings, The Dumpling House is a must.

Haven’t tried everything yet but everything we had so far is yummy! Pan fried cabbage and pork, and steamed chive and pork~ this lovely lady has been running the restaurant for 5 years!Recommend coming with a group so you can try a variety. You can order in batches of 12 of 18.

The food was ok. I tried the oyster mushroom/green pepper and the eggplant cilantro dunplings with a beancurd salad. I recommend the salad which was a great deal for $5. The owner was kind enough to let me mix two different types of dumplings (six each) for the price of one because there was no one else there. She commented on my chopstick skills, recommended a mild sauce. There was a bit of a language barrier but she was nice. The restaurant ambience was nice and presentable but the price was high for the portions, I feel.

Do you do dumplings? You know, those little pockets of goodness that are oh so tasty? Almost every culture has some kind of similar dish… whether it’s a gyoza, potsticker, perogy, etc… Well, let me tell you about a little spot in Vancouver appropriately called Dumpling House.Located on Kingsway, this rather nondescrit spot serves up your choice of Northern Chinese style dumplings either boiled, steamed, or pan-fried. I showed up here in mid-March for an early dinner and I was the only one there. The friendly lady that runs the place seemed to be surprised that I knew how to use chopsticks.I wound up ordering the Chive, Shrimp, and Pork Dumplings ($19 for 18 pcs) and asked for them to be pan-fried. I also ordered the Chili Roasted Eggplant ($7) as a side dish. If you like super tender eggplant, you’ll like this dish. But if you’re one of those people who doesn’t appreciate the somewhat mushy texture of eggplant, you might want to pick another dish. They provide vinegar sauce at the table and they also have chili that you can add to it to kick things up a notch. The dumplings had a slight crispness to the bottom while the wrapper still retained a bit of chewy goodness before getting into the filling. Speaking of the filling… it was juicy and I accidentally squirted juice all over the table on a couple of occasions. Honestly not sure how I didn’t get the juice all over myself.Overall, the dumplings are pretty good and there’s a lot of dumpling variations to choose from (albeit they’re all fairly similar). However, being able to specify how they’re prepared makes a difference (ie. boiled vs. steamed. vs pan-fried).

Dumpling House
When I see so many positive and negative reviews about this place, it’s hard to decide to try it or not.First of all, the place is small but clean, we are the only customers even it’s lunch time. This restaurant is mainly focus on different kind of dumplings by the lady owner, all the ingredients are freshly made, the taste is amazingly delicious because everything is steaming hot and very juicy. The price is almost a dollar each but is worth, I will recommend this place to the one who loves dumplings, keep in mind, it will take a long time to prepare, cook and serve. Therefore if you are in rush, don’t go.

Very fresh handmade dumplings with a variety of fillings (pork, lamb, egg combined with veggies), which are boiled, pan-fried, or steamed to order. We tried the boiled pork and chives dumplings and pan-fried lamb and cilantro dumplings. Both nicely tasty and extremely juicy. Also had the garlic eggplant, which made me ready to convert to vegetarianism. No MSG. Other places pack in the MSG to whet the appetite but this place keeps it clean and honest.Service very friendly in an authentic way. This is my new favourite dumplings house. Gotta try all those other interesting side dishes now.

Great little gem to dine in if you're looking for fresh, homemade dumplings. The menu is simple, giving it a home-cooked feel, but there are many varieties of dumplings to choose from. They are a meal in themselves but the sides are great too.The owner/cook lady sometimes makes them fresh on the spot and is super friendly.

Super precious, sweet, nice lady running a one woman show late night. She helped me decide between boiled or steamed pork and chive. The chili was actually spicy enough for me! There's one that is spicier than the other. Big, juicy dumplings for a great price.
