If you want really excellent, high quality, and very long lasting down comforters and pillows, this is your place. It's a little more expensive than places like Hudson Bay, but there is no comparison in the quality and the loft of the duvet. I ordered an extra warm queen duvet and two down pillows about 10 years ago, from Bettenhaus, and they still look and feel like new. This month I purchased a king XL Sterling 900 loft duvet and it is another absolutely stand out product. The fabric on this duvet, which comes from Germany, is as soft as anything I have ever felt. Spend the extra $100 on the Sterling to get this fabric, you will not regret it. These duvets are basically a lifetime investment in sleep quality, for the price of a Starbucks coffee a day for a year.

I have chronic neck pain that often wakes me up at night.I have also gone through many types of synthetic pillows with no long term luck, and usually end up with a lumpy pillow within 1 to 3 months.I spoke with the gentleman at Bettenhaus about my neck situation, the fact that I often have to lie on my back, but need a pillow for neck support & one that'll hold the side of my face somewhat upwards when I turn it to either side while lying down (many other pillows allowed my head to fall too far over, resulting in more neck pain) and he suggested the medium firm 850 loft Hutterite goose down pillow. I chose the queen size.It's pretty darn good. A medium firm and easily fluffed pillow that conforms to the head and neck, giving me more comfort and a longer sleep, compared to synthetics in various price ranges that I've tried over the years. It was worth the investment, and with proper care, should last many years.When replacement time comes, I'm happy to see small tags on the side of the pillow stating the business name & loft factor inside, so that I won't need to figure out what to order in the future.In the upcoming months, I think I'll be ordering another as an extra on my bed for side sleeping, as well.They deliver if you're not local, which I was also pleased about. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this family owned business.

After searching online and emailing a few companies, I decided on Bettenhaus for my down pillow purchase. They responded to my email the same day compared to others who still have not responded. I purchased a Georgian Premium White Goose Down pillow [19oz, Firm] two months ago. Love that the pillow materials are from Europe and the pillows are manufactured in Canada. But, what really impressed me was Bettenhaus can change the firmness of your down pillow to suit your needs at no extra cost since they are also the manufacturer.UPDATE [OCTOBER 22, 2019]After a few months of use, I found my down pillow to be too soft for me as a side sleeper. Now I wake up with a very sore neck. Thankfully, I had returned to Bettenhaus and purchased a Ewe Wool pillow some months ago. This pillow is just outstanding! It has a wonderful supportive firmness, but without being hard. It is also not too high making it perfect for side sleepers. This pillow was made in Germany. I wish that I had bought the Ewe Wool pillow first, but I had never considered wool as an option before. This was the best pillow I have slept on in years.Dianne

I would like to share my experience with this place, especially in respond to the 1 star comment left by the guy in Australia complaining about the shipping cost. I have bought down pillows and duvets from them and I will tell you one thing, their products are exceptional in quality. I have done enough research online so when I ordered the product, I just simply called and ordered what I wanted. When I received the pillows and duvets, I was astounded to the quality. I am a very happy customer. I used to suffer stiffed neck due to a sustained neck injury from my plane crash. I could not find a comfortable pillow and I've gone through so many pillows until I ordered one from them. I am now no longer wake up with sore neck and it has been six years with this pillow. I am thinking about replacing the current one with a new pillow that have higher loft rating. I have also convinced a friend of mine to buy one of their pillow and he is also amazed at the quality and very happy with his sleep experience.

About 20 years ago I made my first Bettenhaus purchase. At the time it seemed crazy to spend that much money; 30 years from now I will still be using it, a 50 year investment.I’ve since purchased down pillows, duvet covers, pillow cases and shams… You get what you pay for, quality at a *gulp* competitive price.I’ve tried other retailers, none of them have beaten Bettenhaus’ service, quality, and diverse options. I know not everyone can afford “fine bedding”, nor does everyone experience the same degree of health benefits as I do. For me, the right pillows and linens have been worth every penny- my spine has taken revenge on me, as has my immune system, and the perfect pillow combination along with soft, non abrasive bedding has been a huge factor in successful sleep procurement, and in turn the ability to work a full time job. I know it sounds crazy, but if you’ve ever experienced spinal stenosis, you know little things can have a massive impact.I should add, their bedding is quite attractive too, even if all I’ve ever purchased is solid white or blush.

I have been a customer for 15+ years. I first found the company after I discovered that Canada has rigid down quality laws, and that the lesser quality down is sent to the US. My first purchase was in person, a custom sized King Polish down comforter, 4 pillows and a silk comforter for summer. The custom sized comforter was sewn for me while I was in Toronto for the week. Very accommodating. Subsequent business was done with shipping to the USA, not the lowest pricing, but it arrived clean and in good condition, which I think is valuable. Another service they offered was to have my comforter cleaned and additional down added, which also was done easily through the mail.My experience has always been professional, not coddling. I was given good advice, even when it might not have been the most lucrative for the company.I’m going to be a life-long customer.
