Cineplex Cinemas Pickering and VIP

Came to watch Avatar 2. Tried out Markham VIP before but didn’t get a chance to order food during the pandemic, so this was our first true VIP experience here and it was amazing!Love the full recliner chairs especially for a 3 hour movie, super comfortable. The seats also have a heat option.We went into the theatre about 30 mins before showtime and they had waiters coming around taking food orders. I did have an e-Gift card that I was using and unfortunately they couldn’t scan it on their tablet so I had to go out to the VIP concession stand and place my order there. Minor inconvenience on that but in hindsight I probably could’ve ordered via the app. The food came out pretty quick and we still got it delivered to our seats. Food itself was pretty decent and average - good but not great. It’s what you can expect at typical restaurants.Great experience to try out and there are special food deals on Tuesdays Wednesdays and Thursdays.

If you intend to use the women's washroom, bring your own toilet paper. Amazingly the only stall with toilet paper yesterday was the one with a broken lock. I rather embarrassingly had to make a mad dash from one stall to another after finding myself without!I watched John Wick 4 and afterward there were a large number of women who, like me, stubbornly waited as long as possible to use the washroom to ensure maximum Keanu-Reeves-kicks-butt time. What followed was a chain of stranded women passing toilet paper between stalls, three hours later and the problem hadn't been fixed!The stalls are very nice to be fair. Glass, wood, no gap between the doors.I also ordered a drink and am disappointed to say that pre mixed syrups are used in their hand crafted cocktails. They mix them in front of you at the bar which is a nice touch. Don't order a mojito if you prefer muddled mint over syrup though.As for the movie itself, it was my first VIP experience and the seats were divine. The reclining chair and heating options were nice. The option to order food and drink to your seat too. Second row seats were placed so that you don't have to move your head side to side to see the film, something I would be worried about in a typical theatre.I would go again, armed with toilet paper in my purse and stick to the beer or wine.

Show, seats, and food were great but when leaving I almost fell down the stairs due to this little piece of metal that sticks up and goes to the edge of the step. This is a safety concern.

If you have kids, take them to the clubhouse theatre on a Tuesday (cheaper rate) my kids aged 9 and 12 absolutely loved it.

We had tickets purchased from Air Miles for two admissions plus one popcorn and two drinks. We checked ahead to make sure the show was not in the VIP lounge. We were informed to use these passes there, there would be a surcharge of $6.00 each. In Ajax they accept them with no surcharge at all. Well we left without seeing the show. Never coming back again!! I will support only Ajax from now on.

The general admission is what it is. Just ordinary. The d box experience is good. The concessions is where this place falls really short. Lines are normally long, staff don’t seem to move fast at all. Most look like they don’t want to be there. On this last occasion 2 of the 4 pop machines were not working. I asked for layered butter on my popcorn and it seemed it wasn’t the case. *** This is not a review of the VIP***

Please please please clean UNDERNEATH the reclining chairs - I dropped my keys into mouldy rotten sludge and got infected with God knows what. Piles of mouldy rotten food. Horrible experience. Check yourself with a flashlight. You will see rotten food.

Customer service is A1, the VIP seats are clean and well maintained. Not damaged like the other VIP cineplex locations. My only complaint is the burgers. The meat isn’t high quality meet. The portion is not large comparing to the prices. Otherwise it is a great cineplex VIP location. Check it out.

Picture and sound quality are fine, and the theatres are typically clean. However, this is the second time we've found the seats we reserved would not recline. It seems they didn't have power. The VIP theatres are nice as well, but I personally find the in-seat service to be a bit distracting. Food and drink selection is good, however it does cost a premium to be able to purchase.Concessions are rather expensive, but that's normal for all theatres. Drinks and popcorn are certainly smaller for similar cost compared to Landmark in Whitby.
