Pro: 1. Hypoallergenic room: great hardwood floor in kitchen/living room area. The bedroom is comfortable, warm sheets, hypoallergenic sheets. Suitable for people with allergies and asthma. 2. kitchen: great amenities.3. Breakfast: Three choices--either scramble eggs plus bacon or cereal plus yogurt or waffles. You can also add juices, milk, coffee, croissant, etc. It's free. For custom breakfast, you need to submit the form starting 8 am, the cook prepares one request at a time. Mine only took 20 minutes, not one hour like others. Perhaps it was November and was a weekday.4. Free parking.5. Close to the passenger ferry from Aquatic Center dock to Granville Island. A great location.Con:1. Mask requirement: I had both hands full with luggage, as I opened the door to the hotel from the garage, the lady with pink mask sternly told me to put the mask back over my nose. I told her I just walked in a second ago and my hands are full to place my mask back on. She should be more courteous and understand the situation the customers face, please do not be hostile to the paying customers. Her pink mask was not N95, so it didn't make a difference anyway.2. Signs, signs, everywhere. Read all the signs because if you miss one, you might get charged unexpectedly. For example: if you didn't do dishes, $30, slippers $3, water bottle $2, starbuck K cup $2m Beach towel $25, umbrella $25, bathrobe $75, rubber ducky $10 plus tax if you decide to take it home.3. Please, please remove the rubber ducky. It takes up the precious space in bathroom with silly sign about playing with it. But if you decide to take it home, it's $10 plus tax!!Overall, we had a pleasant stay. We definitely recommend it other than a few minor annoyance.

An absolutely fabulous place to stay. The rooms are very generously sized, and setup in a way that works very well for business travellers - a full desk and office chair is provided. A breakfast is provided in the morning, included in the cost.Friendly and professional service - I felt welcome from when I arrived forward, and they were able to accommodate some luggage storage while I was working in the city. The location is also excellent, central to the city with great restaurants/cafes.I would definitely recommend staying here for anyone, but especially business travellers - this would be an excellent fit.

If you have never stayed at a Sonder property before, I urge you to do your research before booking. Sonder “hotels” are essentially Airbnb condo rooms. There are no front desk staff/concierge, no building amenities (at least in this property - laundry room was broken), and almost no staff. The rooms themselves are fairly nice, but for the price you pay you could be in a 3-4 star full service hotel. It is not a good value proposition for the customer, and while staying there I couldn’t help but imagine the 20-something startup founders pitching the idea to a VC board. “Through branding we can charge four star hotel prices, but since we won’t offer any traditional hotel services we can maintain higher margin”

This place has all you need but overall their beautiful people. So kind and gorgeous in everything they do for us.. terrific location and unlimited free amount of coffee on the guest rooms. Our room balcony at the 11 floor allowed us to see the English bay and the fireworks Vancouver used to have these days in summer… finally the Breakfast tastes better when somebody cooks specially for you and your party… they do that and even prepare your take away breakfast if you want to carry on it with you…

Property is closing in January for a remodel and rebrand. We'll see what comes of it.Location can't be beat, and including parking was always a nice perk of staying here. Was able to park my car while waiting for my room, and received a complimentary upgrade. Room (205) was huge and clean, but smelled of fried food - very odd. Also caught the smell of cigarette smoke in the hallway at several points during my stay.Breakfast was ordered and picked up to take back to your room. Took 24+ hours to pick up my first breakfast tray from the hallway.Wifi was fast and stable. TV was maddening - channels listed that weren't available. Why?

The staff is wonderful! They really made us feel welcome and were helpful with questions we had about the area. The hotel suite we stayed in is comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed the kitchenette and dining room table for meals. This hotel is suitable for families. Mr. Dave, the guest service manager, became our son's favorite person he met in Vancouver. The location is close to restaurants and stores without being too busy. Within walking distance, you can also go to buy groceries if you want to cook.We look forward to staying here again in the future.

This is my second time staying here and I love it so much! The entire staff, including the cleaning crew, were very friendly and welcoming! David was extremely helpful as was Victoria & Arabella. They clearly love what they do and it shows. The hotel is clean, spacious (love that the room had a full kitchen!) and very comfortable especially the beds. Every night was quiet and we slept great! The location cannot be beat! Walking distance to so many things! Granville Market, Seawall, Davie St, so many restaurants, bars, clubs and even a grocery store. We felt very safe even when out walking at night. Secured parking is included as is a warm modest breakfast. I noticed some people complained about breakfast but you don’t stay here for the breakfast. There are SO MANY POSITIVES that this vintage hotel has that if you aren’t happy with the meal, there is a Dennys right around the corner! The Sunset Inn & Suites is our family’s home away from home when we come back to Vancouver! Cheers!

We visited Vancouver recently and stayed at Sunset Inn in the English Bay area. It is a nice, older, quaint place. Its location is excellent; the rooms are clean and well-appointed. We had a nice suite with a view of the English Bay. So, the accommodation part was wonderful.A couple of things could have been better. We were woken at about 2 am by someone pounding on the door next door to ours––a woman begging (in Spanish) to be let in. This went on for well over fifteen minutes. It raised security concerns, amongst others. We also felt that checking in, and other items were rather regimented—forms to fill out and to be submitted by a specific deadline. We were expected to, and did, wash our dishes, or there would be a $30.00 charge. What are the maid services for? We requested a one-hour delay in checking out and were told only 30 minutes would be possible–––on a Sunday? The front desk did call back and told us, I moved a few things around and will accommodate an hour" ––– moved what around? Everything was polite and professional

The duvets for the pull out beds were very dirty with bugs on them. The coffee pot had old water and grounds in it and our ice bucket had a king dark hair inside it. Wasn’t pleasant and grossed us out. We all ended up sleeping in one bed because of the dirty duvets and paid $340 with taxes for this room :( It was windy and the sound of something smashing into the side of the wall kept us up all night. We also felt like the breakfast was too late and were warned that it would take an hour if we ordered at 8 so we decided to just skip it and lost the benefit.
