Irma Coulson Public School

The school registered my Canadian born son in ESL based on the color of his skin, and found out in high school with the counselor when choosing subjects. The counselor was surprised and apologized for other school mistakes based on color to think our kids couldn't speak English.Whenever they told him to take ESL, I kept asking why, and now I find out that they were making him feel like he wasn't part of Canadian society and he should learn English. THEY MUST INFORM AND DISCUSS WITH PARENTS FIRST.

the park is amazing. we get very good play structures, tunnels and other cool things like a working waterfall!

If I could rate this school a negative star, I would. My son attending Grade 1 last year. It was the worst experience we have ever had. Teachers who did not know how to manage or care for children and most learning was at home. Unqualified and inexperienced staff. After they let him go out without his coat on at recess knowing he had asthma and then had to be hospitalized, we pulled him out. We are so grateful to have transferred him to the Catholic School Board- he's a happy, stable child with excellent grades and teachers who care. If you want your kids to have a real education and teachers that care, a school that has actual supplies and an administration that will keep your child safe, DON'T GO HERE.

Great school and excellent staff! This is the third school in Ontario that my son getting into in the last 3 years and I would bet that This is the best Of all say it’s discipline, respect, learning my son gets everything a child should at this school. I adore Mme Balsdon for her excellent care towards her students and she is easily accessible to the parents, which helps the parents to bridge the gaps the child needs.Keep up the good work and a very good luck moving forward.

Nothing but terrible experiences since my son joined last year. The staff members including the principal have dismissed bullying concerns solely based on favouritism - one particular staff member telling my son that he deserved it at one point - my email addressing this incident was left on read by the principal. With no time in their obviously busy schedules and lack of concern for children, Irma Coulson should be the last elementary school you consider sending your child to.

Very Good French Immersion Program - entry level at grade2 and in 3 years, my child is outstandingly bilingual (French- English). Very good and dedicated French teachers . Thank you.

I am a student in grade 8 at this school. Today at break my arm got hit with a skipping rope. It started bleeding so I went down to get ice. The secretary Mrs. Van Veen asked me who sent me down to the office. I responded with my arm was really hurting me so I just came down to get ice. She rudly responded with YOU NEED TO GO ASK A TEACHER". Instead of just giving me the ice like other schools would do. She sent me back to my class room. I felt really mad at this school. I have been here since the day it opened and I am graduating this year. This is not the first time something like this has happened. I would not recommend this school to your child."

The school is very cool. I came when I was in grade 6 and made so many friends. I liked how they added new stuff to our hallway and some of the teachers are cool like Mr. Janes, Mr. harrison. Except one thing I would change irma coulson is the bullying system

My daughter went here from JK to Grade 3. Except for one year, she had worst teachers all of the other years. We had to sell and move out of the school area because of how bad this school is. I had to keep up with extra classes like Kumon to keep my child on a progress.
