The MARQ 1 Columbia Street West

I have lived in the Marq building for almost a year now and my experience has been incredibly enjoyable because of senior assistant general manager Jasymne. She always ensures my roommates and I are happy, comfortable and safe! If you move into one of the Marq buildings, I guarantee if you asked for Jasymne you will not be disappointed!

Horrible! New management has no empathy. I prepared my unit for pest control and because the other rooms in my unit wearnt prepared (one of which isn't even there because their lease ends on Feb 28th) and because he wasn't there (because his leased ends) they wearnt able to spary. Therefore I spent 12 hours preparing and now I have to spend another 12 hours putting everything away. To just then soend another 12 hours preparing again for when and if they do come and spray. The building will make you feel like it's your obligation to ensure the other rooms in my shared unit are prepared, even if the one room is empty because there leaving because of the bugs! So just be warned DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. ZERO STARS.

BUG ISSUES. The building used to be very GOOD until the very first maintenance team left, their team lead, a 60-ish year old gentleman, his name was Lauren i think. He was the best property manager i've met in my life.I moved out by January 2022 due to BED BUGS, ROACHES and broken washers/dryers that never got fixed almost a year since 2021. Overstaying guests and partying, the management didnt care. Bed bugs, OMG, they called exterminators, which was good. But at the end, still not be able to get rid of the pests! I dont know why either. So i just moved out.I dont know how this building is right now, but hey, hope this extra info can be helpful to you.Ima very clean person myself. I would 12 out of 10 avoid this place. Rent is cheap, ensuite bathrooms are real nice. Not worth for me.

My friend lives in a Marq building, and it is my favourite building to visit! The building is always clean, and if there has ever been a problem it has always been handled quick and efficiently due to the help of the senior assistant manager Jasymne. When looking for new places to live, I will defintly look at this building and contact Jasmyne right away.

DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!! Multiple units here have severe cockroach infestations, any piece of furnature you get will be cheap if not broken (maintenance can be very slow to respond), they don't recycle, TERRIBLE GYM WITH NO FUNCTIONING EQUIPMENT, and it's insanely overpriced please RUN AWAY FROM HERE!!!!!

This is mainly an off-campus student residence with apartment units with 5 rooms and ensuite washrooms. The rooms are decently spacious and comes with a bed, cupboard, and desk & chair. The corner units also have a large common area with a large window which provides a nice view. The common area includes kitchen, cabinets, couch, and the like. The building includes laundry, garbage chutes, and parking (both ground and underground which cost extra). I personally never used the parking/laundry so don't know their condition. The downsides are that there is no public parking unless you park across the street in the convenience store parking lot which is difficult during the winter. The elevators often require maintenance.

The actual building is nice, and the apartments are great, they could use some updating in the general areas of the apartment, for example could use hardwood floors, newer appliances, and an island for more storage as having 5 people in an apartment leads to very little available storage per person. Even without these changes the place is still pretty nice, however the Marq can be a bit frustrating to work with, not responding to emails and just overall a lack of communication. The marq isn't at all bad but are definitely severely understaffed and probably need to double the team they currently have to actually keep ontop of things (they definitely make enough money to hire a few more people).

Even Jane & Finch of GTA isn’t this bad. Another prime example why tenancy is a curse and leads to ghetto. Ontario needs to stop focusing on trying to be investor friendly.1) No visitor Parking2) majority tenants don’t have enter phone set up.3) Front Entrance door is broken most of the time.4) two elevators for building with over 20 floors

This deserves 0 stars. Absolutely pathetic, third class and supreme level dirty, unmanaged and filthy place.Very very expensive with small rooms, narrow toilets, stairs r always dirty, elevators take very long (only 2 elevators in building). Always parking issue. They don't turn on AC for u. Don't live here. Find a place somewhere else. U will regret by coming here
