I had ordered the hero sub. The meat was literally a Fer slices, I had ordered extra meat. Went home, took a bite..lots of toppings were missing and only a few bits of toppings. Also, it was supposed to be double meat, when I opened the sub, a thin long piece of spam was covering the bottom half and a few thin slices of neat on the top half with very little toppings and missed topping and missed sauces. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

Just had their so called hero" sub. What an insulting rip off. Hardly any meat or toppings. What there was ... was cut so thin you could see through it. Not the "Mikes" I'm used to. Upper Gage is 100 times better. I hope you go under. I'll never go back."

Have been there a couple times always extremely skimpy on ingredients. Wife went today to get 2 12 inch veggie subs, my wife asked several times for more onion and lettuce on the subs and the person would take 2 or 3 little pieces and dropped them on it. As these were being taken home to have vegan mayo and cold cuts we were paying $16 for a piece of bread and a I few pieces of veggies. I.wll let the picture speak for how pathetic they are.

On Sat April 8th I went here to order 2 subs. the young lady behind the counter was on a speaker phone call with her brother she said. I after chatting with him for 30 seconds she asked me what I wanted. I told her the 2 subs and she only made 1 as she continued to chat on speaker phone with her brother in some foreign language. She was so distracted she kept forgetting what i wanted, I told her: tell your brother you have a customer and you will call him back. she seemed annoyed at that. I paid my bill of $39.90 for 2 subs and noticed she over charged me $12 due to being distracted. I brought this to her attention. I think the owner should have a chat with her about good customer service and to tell her no personal calls during work. A very frustrating experience...

Love this place been going to Mike's for over 45 years. They will make your sub exactly how you want it just ask for more or less toppings. Please don't change or get cheap on the ingredients.

This location is nothing like Ottawa St or the Fennell location. We ordered from here a couple of years ago b/c my husband grew up around the corner and this was his local Mike's. The subs were dry and comically cheap on toppings, we decided not to return. Yesterday, my best friend was in the hospital after having just had a baby and she wanted an Ottawa st Mike's sub since she hasn’t been able to have deli meat throughout the pregnancy. My husband was coming from Flamborough so he stopped at the Upper James location out of convenience. When he told me where he was I said “that’s the bad location”. He assured me that it was new owners, it looked clean and the man working was very nice. Unfortunately, it was everything I remembered from before. The meat was as thin as you could cut it and the toppings were barely there. Each half had 2 pickle coins. I ended up taking all of the toppings and putting them on one half to make it edible. We bought 4 assorted subs, 2 chocolate milks and a pop for $42.66. So disappointing that they don’t provide the same quality as the better locations.

I ordered and mixed sub with what comes on it but the lettuce was so light on the sub along with it being brownish. The meat was cut so thin and bun tasted either stale or previously frozen. I'm still hungry after having a sub...come on. Be Better

This is NOT Mikes Subs. Since the take over, they have cut corners and changed things. The bread is always hard and stale. The sauce is just oil, no flavour, and they don't use the Mikes signature finely shredded lettuce. Such a disappointment. It's worth the drive to Upper Gage to get a real Mikes" sub."

Ordered a BLT which states it comes with bacon, lettuce and tomato. I added a few more toppings received the sub with no lettuce and tomato… does that make sense ?? Would never order from there again

Been going here for years and always loved it. Then it got so so but the current owners have done a really great job bringing it back. Tons of lettuce and veggies and meat and they still offer the deals of the week. Every time I’m in Hamilton I make sure I stop just at this location because they get my orders right every time.
