I tried to book a container to move from Ontario to Alberta, got a quote and called back to book, upon calling they said it had been 3 months, which was actually only 4 weeks,they jacked the original quote by 1000, I decided to go head, they sent me to their yard to put a deposit down and when I showed up they turned me away, I called back to find out why and the guy pretty well laughed about it, said he would have someone call back to find out why I couldn't make the deposit, now I've been waiting for a call and it's been a week. Very un professional and if this is how they run their business I dont feel comfortable having them ship my personal belongings. Stick with u haul, proven and professional, also 1000 cheaperUpdate, finally received a call, manager apologized repeatedly stating that the new employees across the company have not been trained properly so this is why there was bad communication. Which to me shows they have untrained people booking people's moves, this is no excuse for a poorly managed company, if people are not trained then they shouldn't be taking calls. I stand by my review, I would not recommend these untrained people to be responsible for your move. Also asked for the explanation on why they jacked my quote, gas went up 15 cents so they figured they could jack my quote 1000 after tax, which the cost it went up doesn't justify the amount it changed, to which the manager started babbling on about other things that had nothing to do with the cost of gas. Complete joke.... stay away

Great experience with BigSteelBox Service! They offers a very reasonable price range and the whole process is so smooth and painless. The customer service representatives respond quickly, even on weekends!Moreover, as I need to move out the old hose before noon on a specific date, the customer service agent listened to my needs and helped to coordinate with the local site to make a right on time pickup. The local delivery and pickup process is very professional and smooth as well. Highly recommended!

We were very happy. The placement and pick up of our container was done with tremendous respect for each property. We had our container for a month, and it was due to very picked up on Friday. We needed it until Monday, and we weren't charged for that! The tow truck drivers were amazingly communicative, respectful and professional. We want to recommend them to anyone we know!!

We have just moved across the country from Ontario to British Columbia. The process was made easier in that Big Steel Box was one of the only transportation companies that could move our house contents from our home province to BC, deliver on time, if not ahead of time, and with no casualties. Staff were knowledgeable, accommodating, flexible and professional. Would definitely use them again. Thank you Big Steel Box.

Big Steel Box Review by Rick GerhartThe move was from Kitchener Ontario to Ladymith B.C. on Victoria Island.The final bill was $10,250 which includes last minute help required in Ladysmith to finalize the delivery.All the administration, employees and subcontractors of BSB were pretty nice and polite to interact with.The big question is how did the move go? Well not as expected. The BSB arrived in Kitchener & was picked up two weeks later as expected. The unit was clean and in good condition inside and out with only a few signs of previous use. Things only started to go south in BC. The container arrived early at the depo just 5 klm from our new residence in Ladysmith, but due to a lift break down at the depo, the delivery of the container was delayed, management at the depo offered to cover a motel stay until the problem was rectified, my wife and I didn’t feel that was necessary, but would appreciate a little compensation at the end. One problem leading to another we camped out in an empty house for about a week. Finally after long weekends and statutory holidays the container arrived but not for long!More bad news… the container could not be unloaded because the driver felt the ground was not level enough for a safe delivery and it could not be left on the side of the road as we did not have a permit.Attempt #2 took a weekend and couple days more… we hired a crew to deliver, unload and return the container all in about 4 hours. This crew had a small more maneuverable truck and stated they could have left the container first time around. Well maybe, we will never know!All the drivers we met where subcontractors and not employees of BSB so playing the safety card is always a good bet. Would I do it again? Do I have anything worth $10,250 or should I have spent another $2000 and had it moved? or would that brought surprises of its own? Some how selling everything and starting clean sounds pretty appealing. Did we receive any compensation because of the broken lift truck? Not yet!Would I use Big Steel Box again? YES

Met expectations with quick response each time I extended my rental. Accounting error on final invoice but was quickly rectified. I would recommend them tp friends & family.

Professional staff, very responsive to emails and phone calls regardless if you reach your particular agent that setup the logistics of the move, or you reach another staff member - everyone is willing to help and accommodate changes in dates and times. The cost is what you make of it, you can choose if you would like BigSteelBox to take on the delivery at both your move destinations, or if you would like to deliver and/or pickup from their distribution yards. For me, I moved from Ontario to Alberta and they had a local yard in Alberta and a yard a bit further away from where I lived in Ontario. We decided to take a moving truck to their yard in Ontario to save a bit on costs, but they delivered it directly to our door in Alberta which was great and convenient. We were even able to move our car from Ontario in the 20’ container with 1BDRM+additional furniture. Easy to arrange pickups, it is as simple as a phone call and they will be there in a day or two depending how many containers they have scheduled to move. Overall great moving experience and very cost effective compared to other moving options.

When dealing with the people at Big Steel Box they were always helpful and responded quickly to my requests. They were always on time. They dropped off the box for filling when they said they would, and it was shipped and dropped at my new place exactly when they said it would be there. I would not hesitate to use them again.
