Pinewood Inn

This place is really bad. Stayed here for 1 night a couple months ago. First red flag was the office upon check-in. Filthy, cluttered and smelled really bad. Our room was absolutely disgusting. It smelled of sewage, there was a used/dirty bandaid on the floor, hair in the bed, and the shower was really gross. We wouldn't have stayed here if there were any other option, but we called around everywhere and everything was booked up. Very bad experience.

1/5 stars. I was going to give 0/5 stars, but the TV was satisfactory and had an array of channels. But that’s the only good aspect about this place. There was dirt (I pray to God it was just dirt) smeared on the bathroom vanity cupboard. The entire place smelt like untreated sewage. Windows were covered with dust and cobwebs. This isn’t an exaggeration. You need low standards to stay here.

I booked 2 rooms for a family get together. Upon arrival I wanted to warm up food and found pizza pockets in the microwave still and then tooth paste in the sink basin from the previous guests. Therefore you know the room wasnt cleaned. The other room had a clogged toilet which was never addressed. Also they advertise a BBQ that can be used by the guest. The BBQ area was so small you could only cook maybe 4 to 6 burgers on it. Only 1 burner was working. The grill area was filthy and when we asked the front desk for a brush to clean it. They gave us a brush that you would use to clean a toilet. Not a metal brush so we couldn't even use the barbecue. Thank God we had family living in the area. So we had to Impose upon them and go to their place to cook the food that we had purchased. Extremely disappointed and Disgusted! Advise everybody to STAY AWAY !!

Great place to get away! The rooms were clean and great value. We enjoyed the backyard views, short walk to the beach and also liked how the rooms have a front and back door. It really made the room feel so spacious and airy. The owners were awesome! We would stay here again in a heart beat!

Great location in Barry's bay. Short walk to the beach and playground, very family friendly. Nice clean rooms, with a backyard view of the lake. Appreciate the use of the barbecue, nice not to have to eat out only. Owners are very attentive and helpful. Free with our room came their expert guide skills of the area, much appreciated. We spent three nights exploring the area, wish we could have stayed longer!

The bathroom was the most modern and well kept part. Towels and bedsheets looked a bit stained. The bedroom looked outdated, carpet was not nice. The lake view in the back is definitely the best feature of this place. Lovely to wake up to.

Great place for a short stay. We had a three bed room and it was big enough for three guys and their bike gear. Washroom was brand new, room clean, beds comfortable and good extras (fridge, WIFI, air conditioning, bike towels, big tv). Owner was very helpful as we needed help with TV and air conditioning. Close to restaurant and snack shop next door. Beach is 5 minutes stroll. Very quiet. Highly recommend.Edit: Since Yvette sold the Inn two years ago it has gone downhill dramatically. Prices are up while cleanliness, general maintenance and customer service has gone down. No longer our go to motel in the area.

Room had severe water damage, cobwebs, blood on the towels, and lights/heat did not work. I believe that the positive reviews must be staff generated because my (10 minute stay that wasn't even refunded) was horrible. Staff did not offer to help and was more preoccupied with his personal phone call than helping resolve this issue. I recommend Mountain View Inn even though it is slightly further away, way way way better for the exact same price.

Rooms are very clean and staff is really good and friendly.
