Paws At Rest

I cannot thank Paws at Rest enough for their help during such an awful time. It was so hard saying goodbye to our 13 year old dog after a very quick decline. I was relieved to call Paws at Rest on a Sunday before a long weekend and have someone pick up the phone immediately. They made availability for us that day. Francine was so incredibly helpful, supportive, and empathetic. I was so happy my kids were able to be a part of the process - having time to say one last goodbye and give our dog a long hug, picking out urns with her in the room, and knowing they would get a paw print and a bit of her hair added extra comfort.Francine responded to my email questions immediately after I sent them, and even reminded me to send in a photo for Maria to use.When we returned to pick up her ashes, we were greeted with a beautiful framed photo of our pup with a poem, a really lovely drawing on a placemat we got to keep, and even a plaque for the memorial wall. My kids have asked if they could visit the garden every week and Francine said of course. I am so glad these two amazing people offer this service.What a difference it is from the passing of prior dogs where we get their ashes returned in a cardboard box. Even before I had picked out the main urn, her ashes were displayed upon arrival in a velvet bag.Everything about their process is tactful, respectful, and full of care. It's easy to tell that they are in this for all the right reasons, and we were so lucky to have called them first.Thank you Francine and Maria.-Cali and Fam <3

So very impressed at the extra ordinary and heart felt service. Francine's warmth, knowledge and compassion is just what we needed and a comforting experience. She clearly has a heart for pet owners and fur babies. Your beloved pet treated with respect, dignity. I am so very grateful to have found Paws at Rest. Highly recommend. Totally worth the drive from Gatineau. We left there heart full knowing they were the right choice.

These folks are some of the sweetest and compassionate workers. I appreciate everything they did for me throughout this process. All the twists and turns and suddenness. Francine was so understanding and reassuring. As well, Maria. Special thank you for the momento. That was so lovely and special. Thank you for making a truly terrible and difficult time, a lot easier for me.

We cannot say enough good things about Paws at Rest. From the first phone call to the day picking up Snickers ashes and bringing him home. Francine in such a compassionate person and was helpful in explaining the whole process as well as organizing in a very short timeframe. Although this was the hardest thing we have had to do we felt very comfortable in our decisions and the ability to take our time in our home to say goodbye.The day we went to pick up Snicker's ashes we were very touched at the love displayed with his picture and poem, the urn and fur for us. We were both in tears to also see that Maria had drawn Snickers on a cloth for us to keep.Francine and Maria obviously love animals and take the time and care that everyone wants and needs during this difficult time. The hurt will never go away but we are so thankful to have these mementos to cherish every dayVicky & Rob

I just wanted to say how thankful we are to have found Paws at Rest in this very challenging time. Losing Mika was hard but you made a tough time easier to bear. Thank you very much your service is so needed and excellent.

We were very fortunate to find Paws at Rest. Their care, compassion and understanding made our loss a little easier. We used their service in August and again in October when my 16 year old passed 4 days after her birthday. The service and the special touches they provide is so comforting. The pup I lost in March was cremated through the and we received only the urn and nothing else. A wall on site outside has the names of pets who have passed.

My husband and I wish to thank Francine and Maria of Paws at Rest for their kindness and warmth which helped get us through this sad and difficult time, dealing with the decision no one ever wishes to make but in the end must. Our beloved black lab of 16 years had finally come to the end. Her pain was no more.We are grateful for the calmness Francine showed when she received our Jay on that first day of summer this year because God knows we were very distraught. The room was warm, quiet and private where we could say our good byes to our girl. It was greatly appreciated.When we picked up Jay's ashes, again, the private room was welcoming with a beautiful picture of Jay, a beautiful memory box and a lovely hand drawing of Jayda done by Maria. Jay's ashes were in a velvet bag inside the engraved box and rested on the mat. Another heart wrenching day but made easier by Francine's calmness and empathy.Thank you both for your efforts, care and respect during this very difficult time.Wendy and Wayne

There are no words to express the gratitude I have for Francine and Maria. They went above and beyond all expectations when caring for our Roxy and us during Roxys afterlife planning. From explaining every step to the compassion they have. Very professional and caring. Even the added little extras they give are breathtaking and a lifetime keepsake!
