Can’t say enough. Underestimated it when I walked in but the food was one of the best menus I’ve had in the city. Wonderful flavours. Very well priced. Wonderful food techniques and emphasis on fermentation and zero waste. Staff are wonderfully friendly as well. Would highly recommend!

With a theme of ethical foraging and a Paloma that can’t be beat this place has anything to offer for the curious. You like elevated desserts ? Done. Espressos that are almost too strong but pack a punch ? Double it up.Thank you to the whole team for rescuing my evening. And if you want a laugh after dessert - try to pronounce Kevin’s full name. He’s awesome.

Brunch was of high value and quality. We got the beef cheek Cubano and beef cheek Benny, both were great, potatoes super tasty and enjoyed the freshness of the salad. The Benny was considered one of the best my bf has ever had in the city. Service was friendly and attentive. Coffee and mimosa great as well. Definitely will be back again!

We had the tasting menu for dinner. The flavors of every dish were so thoughtfully assembled, and thoroughly enjoyable. Each course was just as good as the previous one. We left feeling satisfied and comfortable, not overfull. Both the alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails were great.Service was very attentive! Special thank you to Michelle and Vishal for a wonderful evening. We will return again!

We’re from out of town and had heard good things about this place so we went for brunch on the weekend. After sitting down and ordering coffee the server came back and told us they didn’t have any coffee so we decided to try the lobster Caesar instead. Again the server came back and said they actually couldn’t make any drinks so we stuck with water. We decided to order food anyway and sat and watched as each person that came in was told there were no drinks available, most of them turned around and walked back out. The food was pretty good but the employees both seemed super confused about what was going on and quipped that they probably shouldn’t be open.

We did the new tasting menu that started this week. The service was great and we loved the sustainability element to the restaurant. The bread and dessert were very tasty, the port mixed with Prosecco was a clever mix. However, I’m giving Ration 2 stars due to overall lack of value. We left feeling hungry after spending nearly $400 on 6 courses with wine pairing. We did not opt for the vegetarian or vegan menu but only 2 courses were seafood or meat. Second course was a few mini tomatoes and third course was a few carrots. We enjoy trying different tasting menus and being Guinea pigs for chefs to be creative and try new flavour combinations, but unfortunately we weren’t wowed. The wine pairings went with the meals but they were not very unique nor did they enhance the dishes. We likely will not return.

I came here for a little celebration dinner and didn’t realize it was a Michelin guide recommended restaurant!Upon arrival, I fell in love with the decor and ambiance. The wooden furniture, the industrial lights, terrariums and candles on every table and the restaurant had no music. There were probably three other tables and a lady at the bar. It wasn’t too busy for a Saturday night. You get a QR code for the menu and cocktails. Our server also happened to be the bartender and oh boy, he made some killer cocktails. If you’re into fruitier cocktails, I highly recommend the miso cosmo and the hibiscus watermelon margarita. Near the end of the dinner, I also tried a new cocktail (not on the menu) - it was a chrysanthemum mezcal margarita, it’s more on the smoky side. I like it and I love the effort and creativity placed in every drink. We ordered a la carte (thank goodness) because we were starving. If you order the 6 or 10-course tasting menu, you’re looking at staying at the restaurant for the 2.5 hours/3 hours experience. We didn’t have time for that. $80 extra for wine pairings. If it’s your first time here, I highly recommend ordering a la carte so you know what to expect from their cuisine. Portions are small but very delicious. The chef himself came out and explained every dish to us, which I always appreciate. We ordered the beef tartare, beet salad for appetizers and the risotto and the lake erie pickerel for the mains. The dessert was an apple cider vinegar lavender maple pie, also a killer dessert, I just wish the portion was bigger because it was so damn good.I feel like each dish is more tapa style and more for sharing. Their portions aren’t meant to fill you up and quite honestly, we left the restaurant 60% full. 5 dishes and 3 cocktails came up to $185. It’s steep but we had a great time. The cocktails really made our dinner experience!

A few friends and I visited Ration while we were visiting Toronto, and did the full tasting menu with cocktail pairings (menu + customized drinks). Everything was AMAZING!! I can’t say enough good things about the food, the cocktails, the concept, and the service. Our tasting menu was diverse, balanced and highly fulfilling. Each course was well described and presented by staff. We enjoyed near all the cocktails on the menu, in addition to many personally customized cocktails recommended by the bartender based on our individual palettes.Highly recommend this place for any type of celebration!

If I could give it 6 stars, I would. My girlfriend and I went here for the pre-set dinner and it was one of the best dining experiences I've been to in Toronto. The dishes were incredibly creative and inventive and, most importantly, delicious. The staff were passionate and did an amazing job of explaining every dish and making recommendations on wine/cocktails. It's obvious why this place made it onto the Michelin Guide.

My friend had the truffle Benedict with pancakes and I had the beef/mushroom/bacon burger with fries which tasted good. However, I’m giving this place 5⭐️ because of their incredible waitstaff. The waiter, Ian, was a delight and the bartender made us customized mimosas when they had run out of the lychee & blueberry mimosas. I will definitely be frequenting this place henceforth!
