Complaint InfoDetails: I picked up the truck and noticed the ABS light on and asked him about it he said thats normal when you do brakes it will go off. When I drove it there was no heat when idling so I took it to my mechanic he had to put 2 gallons of antifreeze in it. As soon as he did that the truck started to smoke out the tail pipe and leaking antifreeze really bad from the back of the motor. I drove the truck and it was wandering all over the highway the steering was very tight and the truck was smoking from the tail pipe so I took it to my mechanic and asked him to check the truck out for problems. This is what he found 1) right front ABS wire broken off 2) muffler rotted leaking exhaust bad 3) emergency brake not working 4) left tail light broken clear tape put over to cover the hole 5) 2 exhaust hangers broken by the catalytic converter 6) right mirror broken passenger side 7) front axle u joint worn bad 8) drivers lower door hinge worn door has play up and down 9) both sides of the rocker panels under the truck very rusty with holes both sides 10) power steering box has alot of play in the lower part not leaking but worn bad will cause front end to drift and stiff steering 11) rear universal joint worn play in it will cause vibration. damage to the rear end 12) front end was in an accident and repaired frame bent front bumper bolts not installed right How this thing got a legal safety I am not sure my mechanic says this was not done to safety standards. I returned the truck on the 14th of April and told him about the problems with the truck he gave me loner truck and kept the truck till the 19th he said he took the truck to 2 other mechanics and they said that there was nothing wrong with the truck and he would not fix the antifreeze leak but he would pay for the part. When I bought the truck Nael Nebout assured me that I would not have any problems whit this vehicle for along time. I had the truck for one day and returned it to him with all these problems it is obvious that this has had a phony safety put on it and it is far from the condition what he claimed when I picked it up. His unwillingness to do any repairs to this truck or even take it back is disturbing for me as was his negative attitude when confronted to how he got a safety for this vehicle. Also the date on the bill of sale is way off it says I bought the truck August 4th 2016 he said don't worry about that, again I am very worried about this no matter how I look at the date I never even seen this truck on any way you move the dates around to whats on the bill of sale. Also this was put as a commercial vehicle I didnt ask him to do that I paid him $250 plus tax for a 2 year sticker he only put a one year sticker on it he did give me $100 back towards the price of the sticker but my sticker is only good till October 2016 which means he overcharged me for the sticker too. This is such a shady deal and he will not help in any way to rectify any of the issues. With all this OMVIC , MTO for the phoney safety.nor any one else will help...are they all paid not to do their jobs and protect the people they license to steal from us.

Firstly, my email (resent twice) went into the black hole. 2 months later they answered my third email. Although I had all the info for them with dates and details, I was told that UCDA has no authority over the used car dealer (Motorland....pls see my review) who has done me wrong and not take responsibility for their action and subsequently, lied on their response. The person at UCDA said he was trying to help but once the used car dealer answered his email, I was told that UCDA would close my file. They are a toothless kitten! Took over 2 months to respond and within the same day closeclosd file. Next time I buy brand new.

Bought Honda Civic from UCDA dealer. Daughter drove from the dealership to her school in St. Catherines, on the way the A/C stopped working. Dealer told me we probably aren't operating it correctly, told me that any time I was able to get a hold of him. I also realized the CarProof I was given was for a different car. It was for a blue 2007 Civic, but not the one I bought. I asked dealer to fax, or e-mail me the correct one, he had numerous excuses as to why that couldn't be done. I needed to come and get it. I later realized this was to prevent any record of him not providing the correct one at the start. I bought my own CarProof, the car had been in two accidents, each requiring repairs of just under $3,000.I learned about UCDA, and was thrilled to see that this dealer was a member. I contacted UCDA, provided them a bunch of information, really had my hopes up that I would be getting out of this crooked deal. After submitting all paperwork and detailed overview of what had transpired, I was contacted by someone at UCDA who sounded like they were about 20 years old and was told, what you need to do is contact the dealer and try and negotiate a better price. If you can't come to an agreement, what we can do is assist you with the negotiations. But we can't make the dealer do anything. If you and the dealer can't come to an agreement, you would have to take the dealer to court. This all happened 2 years ago. I was just looking at autotrader for something and came across dealerships advertising that you are protected as they are UCDA members.I don't know what you are protected from. I'm actually not sure what the point of this organization is.

I contacted the UCDA this morning to inquire about used car dealerships (regarding reputability, legitimacy of certain dealerships etc. etc.) and about some information I had read on the UCDA website... I was simply looking for someone to speak to, trying to do my due diligence before buying a used vehicle. I thought this would be a place I could call/go to for some general advice and information. To make a long story short, whoever took my call (a male employee) was incredibly short and absolutely zero help. This staff member had a belittling attitude and I was left disgusted at the end of my call. Zero help. I would not recommend this place whatsoever.. just speak with your mechanic or a dealership.

I was ripped off by a UCDA certified dealer who failed to disclose the vehicle was a former rental. Major engine problems from day one and 3 months later the engine is blown. UCDA treated me Like I was in the wrong and their dealer was in the right. It was quickly obvious that they are paid by the used car dealers to represent dealer's interests.. THEY ARE NOT A CONSUMMER PROTECT GROUP!

These guys are the definition of a joke. Bought my first car from a ucda dealership. car history shows the kilometers were changed on the car information. When I mentioned it one week later their response was the person entered the odometer wrong going from 137,000 km to 80,000!! These guys are in bed with the shady dealers. I thought dealerships selling rolledback odometer was a serious crime... Ucda is just another useless way to waste taxpayers money

I work for a company called Dealerpull DMS, and from time to time our dealer members who use our automotive software have questions. When we don't have the answers, we reach out to the UCDA. Their entire team is extremely knowledgable (have the correct answer you can find confidence in) and ALWAYS quickly reply. If you are a used car dealer in Ontario - you should become a UCDA member today! Thank you for providing such a great service in the industry. - Colin
