The last time I bought meat specifically “Picanha” at Rui Gomes it was clear that this meat doesn’t “Picanha”! Also everybody can see in the pictures a lot of fat that I removed! Since a got to Canada I made referal this place for everyone, but now I have doubt about this place.

Go to place for Portuguese import foods and fresh deli/meat/fish. Also has a prepared meal attached kitchen next door if you want quick portuguese food. Lots of parking - more than most places. High turnover on popular items so most things tend to be super fresh. I recommend the house smoked sausages

Rui Gomes Meats & Food Market
This was on my list for Portuguese groceries for months before I decided to go on a Saturday afternoon. Be warned, it can get busy but I’m so happy I went. Not only do they have every Portuguese thing available, but they have a hot table and their portions were GENEROUS! I got the Cozido a Portuguesa and wow. Super super recommend and I can’t wait to go back.

I found a long brown hair in my beef stew when I got home ,threw the whole meal into the waste & almost gaged ,never again will I order from the BQ hot plate take out (GROSS ! )

Sr. Gomes is an awesome person. He treats my 80 year old father like a VIP. We make a run to Toronto a couple of times a month for Portuguese items my family wants, which is a 120 km trip each way. We always make this place one of our stops and are never disappointed.The store is clean, well stocked, vibrant and efficient. They’re busy, and yet the staff is accommodating, friendly, and professional.

I just came back from a trip to Portugal and been on everything Portuguese kick. I pass by this place all the time.and didn't realize it was a Portuguese market. Went in and found everything I was looking for and more! Will definitely be coming back for more of the pasteis da bacalhau,,!

Rui Gomes Meats & Food Market
This is a great Portuguese grocery store. That have a huge selection of imported Portuguese grocery items like coffee, cheese, fish and soda, to name just a few. They have a large assortment of Salted cod. They even make their own Portuguese sausage right on site. They even have a small Churrasqueira (Barbeque) restaurant attached to this store. There staff are friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a good selection of Portuguese items, this is there place to go.
