Days Inn by Wyndham Athabasca

Absolutely disgusting hotel. Towels were ripped and stained, someone's old moldy coffee pods were still in the machine, splatter on the walls, window sills covered in grime and the chair in my room is broken. Called front desk to simply ask for a new chair and the person working was rude, refused to bring me a new chair and told me she'd do it when she felt like it. Called head office and the guy hung up on me because I refused to go to the front desk. Called back and speaking for corporate management as the front desk lady came and pushed a new chair into my room with attitude then walked off without taking the other one. Don't stay at this place.

Yes I only gave it three stars but keep reading.First, I had to take off one star because there are no amenities. No pool, hot tub, etc. Just the rooms and a free breakfast.Next I had to take off another star because during my stay the cable TV was broken and they only had a few channels. They had signs up apologizing and to be fair there's not much they could do about it. But given the lack of other things to do there, I had to deduct a point.Now all that aside, the rooms were clean and in pretty good shape. The staff were helpful and friendly and the free breakfast was pretty decent and had a better selection then the usual hotel continental breakfast.Most importantly the bed was fantastic. It was one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in in years!If you're looking for a vacation hotel with lots of activities and entertainment, then this isn't your stop. But if you're just traveling through and simply want a place to get a good night's sleep and a decent breakfast and be on your way, this is the place for you! In that situation it's very easy to highly recommend this hotel.

Clean and comfortable staffed by very courteous people. Offering a wonderful breakfast served till 10 am included in your room rate. Self serve laundry on site.

The shower head was cracked and leaked everywhere, the pillow cases were dirty, their was a bug crawling on the bed. We had some super heavy foot people above us. I have insomnia and hard to sleep. Kindly asked if we could exchange room and they told us no. I don’t think the cleaning staff clean anything and the shampoo etc is so tiny a bald man couldn’t wash his hair with it.I won’t stay here again

Under beds was dirty, several bathroom items are deteriorating and need replacement, beds not overly comfortable

Rented half an entire floor with family for a funeral here. Poorly run business with rude staff. Refused anything extra for rooms, even pillows. Wouldn’t let people stay in the lobby area while waiting to attend a funeral. The is designed for people to hangout in??? Broken handle on the bathroom door and very uncomfortable beds, felt like sleeping on concrete. Cheap, unaccommodating, and rude. Will not be back.

I had my stay for business. I hate it when people rate reviews based on amenities. The hotel is listed as 2 star hotel, and that define amenities. Rooms are clean and properly serviced at the Wyndham service level. The beds are super comfortable with the memory foam topper. Some previous reviews identified noise from hallway. Yes this can happen. In looking at my door, they use a hollow core doors on the rooms and the gaps around the doors are large and the door seals are damaged. The doors are really decorative though. So yes hall noises can come through the doors. You can clearly hear conversation on the other side of the door. Remember it works both ways. People in hallway can hear conversation in the room.I had to drop the service level to a 3 only because a summer student entered the room unannounced ( no knock) before entry to distribute towels after morning cleaning. If it had happen 5 minutes earlier he would have barged right in with me sitting on the toilet. That would have been very awkward.The breakfast has returned to normal full hot breakfast typical of Days Inn hotel format.I had a suite room which is really nothing more than a wall with doors that separate where 2 beds might exist. Funny thing is the air conditioner/heat is in the bed room area and the thermostat is in the other room. So it could get a little colder or warmer in the sleeping area if doors are closed depending on mode. Having the suite doors can help isolate hallway noises if they do occur. A ying-yang situation.Overall I had a great and restful stay.

Clean, decent staff. Memory Foam mattress, better than average bedding. Best feature was a medium sized refrigerator with a real freezer.Room was warm even though it was late September, couldn't get air conditioner to power on. Also no nightstand charging, Days Inn buy some power bars and a stud finder it's a dirt cheap solution and I took away a rating star for this, it's a decade into the smartphone era no excuses anymore.Breakfast was minimum level of acceptable, and the butter packets were practically frozen. Water cooler in lobby is a nice feature.I would recommend for a work stay, the good beds and larger fridge are assets for this. For a short vacation stay, maybe look elsewhere with more features.

Very rude front desk staff. Only wyndham hotel that doesn’t consider or honor their own membership. Never coming back to this hotel again.

We came to visit family. The front desk lady was not friendly. The room had empty bottles in under the heating unit. The bed was really hard and no pillows for pull out sofa ( we did request at front desk but they didn't have any)Our truck, gooseneck trailer, and 3 sleds were stolen over night. It was parked just in front of the door. The manager didn't seem so concerned and cooperarive. when we requested for the camera footage she refused to give it to us with the excuse that they need a technician to do that. Surprisingly the cameras were working day before. We were also warned by other people around the area to not stay there bcz this things apparently happen often.I would not reccomend staying here.
