I have been a customer for 10+ years and have a Regency wood stove that Ian installed within days after my old stove died. He arrives when he says he's going to arrive, does an extremely thorough job, answers any questions I may have, gives me advice and recommendations when needed and is completely honest. I have known Ian for 30 plus years. He has maintained my chimneys for that entire time and I have bought a stove through him. I feel tremendous peace of mind after Ian has cleaned my chimneys. Worrying about a chimney fire is no fun. And that is one worry I don't have when The Chimney Doctor has worked for me.

I recently had an issue with our woodstove and Ian (The Chimney Doctor) was able to help us out... his service is great. He is very knowledgable. I was wondering if the cleaning would be messy, and after he left you couldn't even tell he was here. Everything was spotless. (I tried to clean the flue myself last time and I made a total mess.) I highly recommend his service. One thing... if you are a new owner of a home, or you've been cleaning your chimney yourself... all chimney sweeps are very busy in fall. If you can, call in spring!

I have lived with wood heat most of my 6 decades. It's a great way to heat but it can be dangerous. You have to have someone on your side to keep it clean and safe. The Chimney Doctor here locally in SouthEast Vermont is the very best service I've ever had. He knows wood stoves, venting, and chimneys. He is efficient, honest, competent, friendly, and a source of knowledge that is important. I recommend him all the time to people new to the area - everyone else already knowns him and likes him. I don't know how he can haul out so much grime and leave the house clean and clear from all his good work. Everything is left in good repair and cleaner then when he arrived. That's a big plus. And all of his help are competent and courteous too. Don't miss out on a great tradesman.

We highly recommend Ian! We reached out via email at the end of November to schedule our yearly wood stove cleaning, expecting to have to wait until at least Jan. for an appointment. He was able to come out a couple weeks later, and was thorough, professional, and very helpful when I had some questions on how to operate our stove in the most efficient way (we rent our home, and it’s a different type of stove than we’re used to). He left the area around the stove spotless-much more clean than when he got here! To top it off, on his way out the door he left a little chimney sweep figurine on top of one of the chimneys in our Christmas village. Our son noticed it a few hours later and loved it! As someone who uses firewood as a primary heat source (burning about 4 cords per season), and as someone who has used Chimney Doctor for years, I have no hesitation in giving them the very highest recommendation. They are complete professionals...extremely competent...totally reliable...attentive to safety concerns...and completely honest. In addition, they fully stand behind their work: if there is any difficulty, they do not hesitate to investigate and make things right. They are the best!

Technicians were rude and unprofessional. Called matagement and they were rude and work was subpar and they were here for 2 to 3 hours at a cost of 4400$ there is still cracks in the chimney and damage to the firebox and we had to point outa gap to them that was a serious fire hazard. Would not recommend to anyone.

The Chimney Doctor recently serviced the chimney at our home in Brattleboro, Vermont. They were able to come to our house within just a few days of our requesting service, which was appreciated. Ian Conway, the proprietor and sweep, was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. He took the time to explain his process and gave me insight into the chimney relining I had done when I moved in years ago. One nice touch was the little chimney sweep figurine he left behind. He clearly does his work with pride and panache. I'm moving soon, and I'll be sure to call him for chimney service at the new house.

Ian and his crew are the absolute best! When we bought our home, it had a very old fireplace insert and we enjoyed using it to warm up the living room. The following summer, we hired The Chimney Doctor to come clean the chimney and also asked for some quotes/ideas for replacing ours with a newer insert. Ian took some measurements, did some research, and recommended a small Regency unit. I can't believe how quickly Ian was able to install it and now we not only heat our living room with wood, but most of the rest of the house as well! We've since had The Chimney Doctor do our annual cleanings, and whether it's Ian himself or one of his other guys, they are always punctual, professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and they leave everything cleaner than they found it.
