Pitt Polder Ecological Reserve
Lovely marshlands. Can cycle it but unless you have a mountain bike don’t recommend it. Bit too bumpy and muddy. Look out for wildlife! Lots of wonderful birds about

Great place to walk along the water with picturesque views. One can bike along the trail.

Pitt Polder Ecological Reserve is stunningly beautiful at this time of year: a unique scenery with mountains, brownish grass and trees, lakes with light brown patches of land looking like islets, and ducks which occasionally fly out suddenly from the lake edge and then soar up to the sky. A poetic scene that you can never see in the city!

Absolutely stunning. Utterly unbelievable. It felt like David Suzuki should be narrating over the landscape in a episode of Planet Earth" as I drove along. Never knew such a close up view of the mountains was right here. And in the winter the sky is a pink that you won't forget. Got a photo shoot done here and ill cherish it for a long time."

This is a great escape for a easy walk with your dog. Great viewing of wildlife with lots of different birds to see. Great wife and flat trails for the whole family. There are a few bugs to contend with depending on the time of day. The Sandhill Cranes nesting areas close certain trails from March 15th to August 15th. Enjoy the outdoors.

Pitt Polder Ecological Reserve
Insanely beautiful place to go. Lots of wildlife - bears, coyotes, birds, ducks, geese, herons are all very common here. There are almost NO facilities here. No garbage cans - so you will need to pack out any garbage you bring in. No washrooms. Just a grassy (and frequently muddy) dyke trail along Pitt River towards Pitt Lake. (Pitt Lake picnic area is closed and the washrooms/garbages appear to be closed as well.)Parking is on the side of the road. Road to this reserve is paved but rough - bumpy with potholes.

A great area in general for a relaxing walk or, for me, an early morning photo shoot to grab some unique images of the morning mist and sunrise creeping over the coastal mountains. Polder and Pitt Addington Marsh are awesome for the quiet and solitude on early morning days. Updated this review with some photos from a recent hike with our dogs.

Beautiful views!! Easy trail for all. Bring a hat, some none shaded sections. If your a birdwatcher it's great for that.
