Avis Car Rental

DO NOT RENT from this Company. Absolute worst customer experience ever. Rental was booked online and all confirmations received. Conducted pre-check-in with confirmation our car was ready. Arrived from out of town to the pickup location (Kitchener) to a sign on the door saying back in 15 minutes. Called the Avis/Budget number to no answer. Received a call back from William Tout saying he was at the airport and had no cars available for at least 5 days. License to conduct business should be revoked. CIBC should consider their affiliation with this mess of a company as reputational damage extends to them as well (preferred rental company on Infinite VISA). Still on hold with "CUSTOMER SERVICE trying to get a refund for a prepaid vehicle they didn't have. The very definition of fraud.

***Please be alert while renting a car from them, they will scam you the moment they can***They charged me for two days extra just because their website was not working and the call centre was also not able to return my car. The guy at the store suggested me to drop the car off and I won’t be charged.Even after that I was charged for two days because they processed the return two days later…I didn’t even have the car with me and when I went there to talk to the guy about it…he said he suggested me to drop the car off but never said I won’t be charged.I would give them 0 if that was an option.They are scammers.

I reserved a car and was excited to go on a trip - only to arrive at the Avis car rental and be told that they had no cars. First of all, the employee there said that there was no reservation in my name. Then, when I showed them the reservation, they pretty much refused to even look at it, saying that it didn't matter, that they had no way of controlling how these reservations are made. I am a regular Avis customer, but with this kind of disregard and contempt for customers by the company, I am already looking for alternatives elsewhere. Make sure you have alternative options lined up when you book Avis.

Great service, could tell I was a regular and got me going quickly.

Update: After contacting Avis, I received the remaining amount back and I thank Avis for reaching out and providing a just resolution. My rating represent the behavior of staff at this particular location and is no representation of Avis customer service generally.Worst customer service ever at this location. I would pay a little bit extra but deal with people who are professional and courteous. The staff here is very rude and harassing. I booked my rental and paid online in advance just so I could get a better deal with 3100kms included for just over a month. When the vehicle was returned within stipulated time frame and mileage, no damage and fuel tank as it was given, I was still charged $500 for something which the staff was unable to explain. Instead of arguing with them, I called avis customer service, who were able to reimburse 70% of the amount, but even they were unable to explain why I was charged for that.

But when Arrived pickup location (Kitchener) there was sign at thedoor saying back in 15 minutes but the Old man the was there was very rude saying i should have called them before even though i called them but no one answered phone the man was Very rude the whole time To the point that I have to cancel my reservation

Poor Management . 0 customer serivce skills. The Manager is an Old Guy who is not only Rude but is very unethical in terms of customer interaction. No wonder this place has 2.5 rating.

Made a reservation on Oct 3, 2022, received a confirmation phone call the day of and asked them what time they would close as I had booked the pick up for late in the day. Showed up 15 mins prior to closing and no one was there to process the rental. I called the number that had called earlier to be told they would be there in 10 mins, waited 30 minutes and no one arrived or called to explain delay. In the meantime I booked with another agency and they picked me up. Very disappointing service or lack thereof.

Booked a rental car for the first time and made biggest mistake by choosing this location of Avis. I had booking 08293354CA6 (Mar 27) for an Intermediate SUV - Ford Escape or similar.I called in the morning of Mar 27 to confirm which car I would get. The gentle man said that they would not be able to confirm make but it would likely be RAV4 or Tiguan.When I reached to pick up the vehicle at 5:00 PM, I was offered Hyundai Venue. When I requested them for a bigger SUV (because my booking was for an Intermediate SUV), they told me that Hyundai Venue was an Intermediate SUV, which was not correct. They added that RAV4 was available but at new cost, which was more than double of my original booking cost.Lesson learnt : Never rely on Avis for your travel.
