Foundry 1805

Very bad move in experience. The room that I was allocated was good but the hall was as messed up as it can be. The fridge and the bathroom were really bad. The management said they couldn’t do anything regarding it. The only option I have is to give the lease to someone else and move out from here , since it is a 1 year lease. So, please don’t just look at the sample room they show and decide to move in. Only good option would be if all people in your room decide to move in together. I hope at least then they will clean the whole unit. The best thing is the location, near to the university and easily accessible by bus. All the negative reviews of this place is true regarding cold water in the shower, pests in the building etc.Please don’t come in to 1805 building. I will definitely not recommend anyone coming here.

Honestly 1 star is also too much for this place. I’ve had the worst experience living here. If you’re new to this city or country especially international students don’t even consider this place to live because the management is the worst management I’ve ever seen. They will trick you in renting a house and then make your life miserable. They don’t respond to calls. They don’t respond to complaints. And then they expect us to pay our rent on time. Because money is all they want no matter your living environment at the place.So, think twice if you’re going to rent a place here.

The service at foundy is very much smooth and fast. They respond to my queries asap and solve them as well. The rooms here are well equipped as well. And staff is friendly too.

The place itself? Not terrible. If you move in with friends that will keep the suite clean the experience isn’t bad, however the showers barely get warm. Oh, and cockroaches are in the building but if you keep your suite clean they’ll be minimal. Before moving in familiarize yourself very well with your rights as a tenant and be prepared to fight management on it. Ontario Tech students: You can talk to a lawyer for free thanks to the OTSU’s legal helpline. Ask them if you’re unsure, especially if you’re charged unreasonably high fees.

I haven’t even moved in yet but I have already started to experience problems with management and the leasing department. I had signed my lease early June to get an early bird rate, and made a request that I would like to move in a couple days earlier than the move in date that’s originally on all the lease. Both management and the lease agent said that it was okay to set an earlier day for the move in and that was another reason I had signed the lease so early. Now a couple days before my move in and they had notified me that I am not allowed to move in early because it doesn’t work with them. I find this completely frustrating and totally unprofessional. “I apologize for this error and inconvenience!” is all they can say when I had been emailing for a month back and forth about the move in and nothing was mentioned.Before choosing this place and signing the lease I hadn’t read the reviews and just trusted the people who worked here. I just want people who are considering to live here to know that they are only about money and not about accommodation. If before I move in I’m already having trouble I’m definitely worried about what will come up when I move in. Please read reviews before making decisions like these.Update: if you want just a place to sleep at night and put your stuff then yeah this is great. But if you want it to be a living space I don’t recommend. The cockroaches are actually so bad and they don’t do anything about it. They charge me for things I didn’t even ask for and the only “cleaning” there is vacuuming the kitchen and hallways and living room and that’s about it. I really wished they would actually put effort in the space. So much potential and it’s all wasted.

They say they’ll take you to collections after you leave the place for whats basic wear and tear. I paid twice my rent one month after leaving the apartment for that. Pay a little more and find better residences.

Honestly, I don’t know why Foundry doesn’t have 5 stars.I’ve been living here for almost a year now and I have absolutely no complains. The staff is helpful if you go up to them and ask questions or present your concerns. The building manager is usually in contact through text messages and replies very quickly.I’ve never really had to write them an email because everything is pretty good.I was really worried when I first moved into residence because I didn’t know what to expect and what kind of roommates I’ll get. But foundry literally put me with the best people. They took everything I wrote in the application into consideration and made it even better. I had some problems when I was doing my application but the staff was so calm and helpful.Highly recommend Foundry.

It’s a nice place to leave and I have chance to meet really great roommates while having my own private space also ☺️

1805 is a great way and a very comfortable place to study with the indoor lounges. I got a couple friends there and they said they love living there!

This place is horrible. The price might be a little lower than others but it is not worth it, its cramped up, smells of sweat and pee, they try to add new things to the building but the building is small so everything looks cramped and out of order, elevator is so slow even though they are only 4 floors. Came to visit a friend for 2 days and it was a terrible experience. There was a tenant called William Finnegan and he had no manners for guests, he was so loud and rude. I urged my friend to complain and after he did he said foundry never got back to him so I advised he moved out immeidately. 0/10
