July 2022.It’s only open Thursday to Monday from 10h -16h; hence I can only glimpse from the park and outside the fence. However, the writing outside the visitor center provides a short and brief background to the fort as well as the battle of windmill which led me to read more from other sources to better understand the location story. As it seems, Prescott is where it started between the upper and lower Canada conflict and the battle of windmill ( 2 km away) was the start the the 30 year fights which lead to confederation of Canada.

This is a wonderful place to bring your family and friends. Spend the day by the st. Lawrence and stroll along the bike path. The historical fort offers many activities to indulge in. They have a gift shop with all kinds of trinkets to purchase to help you remember your visit. This place is a must see when visiting the area!!

Fort Wellington is located on the shores of the St Lawrence river in Prescott. It is an interesting historical landmark that was built to defend our British colony from the Americans. Inside the fort you can see the barracks, the armory and they offer special tours and demonstrations in period dress so you can imagine you are living in those days. I enjoyed going there and think you would too.

Too many Ogdensburg area residents have never visited Fort Wellington to see Lt. Col. Benjamin Forsyth's ceremonial sword which the British stole after capturing the community during the 1813 winter battle. Ask yourself why the Canadians are still aiming their cannons at Ogdensburg? Why do they still fear us?

I was driving and decided to make an implusive stop, for the family, and wow were we all impressed. Fun and friendly staff. A facility that might look small but has a lot to offer. It was very affordable with a family of 4 only paying $16. Plus we had the place to oursleves! A huge bonus after the massive crowds and $50+ cost at Fort Henry.

A small but interesting fort. It's good to know the history from the staff there. They are friendly and welcoming. Do check out the other attractions like the parks next to the river and family owned restaurants!

Small but interesting. Small museum with some are the historical tunnels that go into the pill boxes. Friendly staff definitely worth a stop if you're in the area or exploring things along the coastline of the river.

Recommended place to visit. Great for everyone young or old. Staff are incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable. Clearly passionate about what they do. We learnt a lot and they even fired a period rifle for us!

Super friendly staff very willing to interact with kids and answer questions. Relaxed atmosphere and plenty of artifacts (wooden toys, costumes, etc.) to touch. The displays are informative. This was a spontaneous stop and it was worth it!

Very cool spot and very well maintained. The staff knows their material and are very personable. I lived how the exhibits were displayed.
