Budget Car Rental

Hassle free, great vehicle, super customer service staff and free pickup from the ferry.This rental company has been exceeding our expectations twice so far, highly recommend! Even received a phone call to ask if we had forgotten something in the car, their customer service is outstanding!

I have dealt with this organization on multiple occasions. They rarely are ever to deliver the service they claim to make. The customer service representatives often state that they can not help. They do not try to find solutions and clearly do not feel any accountability to the customer. A staff member even hung up on me. I would avoid if at all possible.

This was the second time that I ever rented a car and I was a bit worried about it but I really didn't need to be. The whole experience with budget was absolutely flawless. When arriving in Nanaimo by ferry there was a shuttle waiting that took us to budget. The lady at the counter was super friendly and provided us with a fantastic overview of what we had booked and additional information and answered all of our questions. We had booked the 'Toyota Corolla or similar option' and were given a Toyota Camry hybrid which looked pretty much brand new and was absolutely excellent. it being a hybrid meant we didn't have to spend a lot on gas which made the rental very cost effective. when dropping off the car a week later we had a similarly pleasant experience and were once again given a ride back to the ferry terminal. Having such a flawless experience with budget really added to the overall enjoyment of our holiday and I would not hesitate to book with them again in the future. Brilliant overall and a well deserved 5 out of 5 stars!

I’m a long-term Budget Car Rental customer and a Budget Self Storage customer…both of which are located at 33 Terminal Ave, Nanaimo, BC.My storage rental with Budget started 2 years ago and I just rented a vehicle (a moving van) from them in July 2022.It’s fair to say I should have posted a 5-star review for these people long ago but just didn’t think about it till now.Since I first started using the storage unit, I stop in there regularly sometimes weekly, so I’ve met all the staff who works there,and on each visit to that place I’ve always been treated by them in a friendly, respectful, and appreciative way.Also, when I rented the moving van in July, it was exactly the same story with me receiving 5-star treatment from checkout to returning the vehicle with no extra charges or surprises.I know I don’t say it to you while I'm there but I really appreciate you folks … thank you for what you do!

I called for my credit card charge was higher than I agreed to plus an extra charge for insurance was also made. Adam was snotty rude and wouldn’t answer any questions. I really just wanted an explanation or suggestions but he didn’t have time for anything but rudeness. Very poor costumer service! We did however enjoy the vehicle but will be making sure the extra charge goes off our visa! Really hope I don’t have to call back and experience that service again

I have no doubt those one star reviews have valid reasons for giving bad reviews. But my experience with this location was fantastic and hassle free. The lady at the counter on pick up was very helpful, gave me complete details of whats needed for the rental. Then the drop off was seamless too even though I had to drop off the car off hours (4am on a Sunday). Then call center is a plus because even though it was a Sunday, I was able to speak to a real person without having to wait forever while in hold to tell them that I had drop the car off on the exact spot I picked it up from.

Fast and efficient service. Unfortunately crossing the Malihat at 4:30 the display lights dimmed and I could see what speed I was doing. Extremely dangerous. Today there's no problem.

Great experience renting a car from budget Nanaimo. Received excellent customer service from supervisor Sara Poirier and look forward to returning to rent another car in the future.

Easy return of our car that we had rented in Victoria. A super-friendly and professional gentleman from Australia by way of New Zealand looked after us and shuttled us to the ferry port also.
