Brock and Visser Funeral Home

Deeply saddened to see such a high quality local Funeral Home be lowered to such poor standards.Grieving loved ones need guidance, support and reassurance during these times. They are at their most vulnerable time in life and trust the “Funeral Home” to help provide the upmost respect for their loved one.This week our hearts are broken with the quality name of Brock and Visser no longer being such ”High Quality “. We’d like to share this knowledge that the business has been sold and is under new management.Clearly noticeable on our arrival to celebrate our deceased loved one.Noted to be a cold environment( visitors not greeted by friendly staff upon arrival nor departure-certainly not what we are custom to) , staff not visible to make a donation.Poor care noted to the deceased( include poor makeup-he was grey, grooming -tie poorly tied and placed poorly. His shirt not tucked in appropriately. The pink light was on his hand and not on his face which could have assisted with his appearance).Do guidance to the family from car line up for the procession to the church and on leaving to the cemetery ( a family member had to guide and ensure no one was left out and was directed properly).While family had to ensure the church doors were opened for the casket to enter. This then continued that family had to take the roll of the funeral home director( who ever that was today???) to guide the immediate family to follow the casket into the church, to support set up of flowers at the cemetery. Someone even handed a grieving family member a black bucket of yellow roses asking them where to put them( the roses were taken and placed at the top of the headstone by that family member (I truly think this individual thought the family member was a funeral home staff member). As I stated earlier, no certainty on who the actual director was till the end of the entire service as she closed off the ceremony).I do believe it’s time the new owners to face the public and change the name of their home. This way they can be accountable for their service before they drag such an honourable local home/family name in history of Funeral Home service through the mud! This is certainly not the Brock and Visser home that supported us during the loss of our loved ones.Clearly after reading your reviews people aren’t aware John and Greg are not apart of this business any longer.Currently this Funeral Home will no longer be recommended by our Family!Had to provide a star otherwise unable to post. But certainly would only give it a number for accessibility!

So this is a story that I'm sure hasn't been told. Brock and Visser didn't actually take care of my dad's funeral but played a huge roll in making my family so incredibly happy. My dad lives in Macteir Muskoka actually and he died suddenly in March of this year. My mom being struck by such disbelief was unable to make some tough choices or decisions. A lady by the name of Pam recommended one of her girls to help out by putting together a side- show for my dad. My family/friends and Everyone that attended truly couldn't believe that this place did that. We had no connection to this funeral home and they were so compassionate to help me. Her name was Carly and I never did get to meet her but one things for certain, God's little Angels sincerely work in the most majestic ways. Thank you for helping my family and my dad's Celebration of life. I'll never forget what Brock and Visser did for me and my Family. Forever Fearful Jenny xo

If it were possible to give more than 5 stars they have earned it. All the concerns about funeral homes in general were absent and it was appreciated. I recommend them and wish once again to extend my gratitude for the thoughtful, kind and generous service they extended to me and my family.Robert Blain

Didn't use their (or any funeral home) services, but very much appreciated them putting my father's obituary on their website, free of charge. Pamela was quick to respond and super helpful.

Dear Old Guard of Woodstock, Obvious all these new posts are sour grapes. Is this how you welcome and support new people and businesses into your town? Shame on you.

I am not impressed by your actions to exclude family members from that you have been made aware of concerning the obituary of Marion Margaret ( Van Allen) Ainsworth and have not corrected this when advised of your mistake. For Jerry and her daughter Pamela along with family members not mentioned this is devastating for them at a time when they are grieving to have been excuded from her obituary will leave an ever lasting memory of being erased from her life and should be corrected as they are her family as well and this is very unprofessional on your funeral homes part as it's your job to insure proper paperwork is filled in with correct information especially when concerning a loved one passing and death certificate and such. I was hoping to see that this had been corrected but apparently your company does not care about correct and proper etiquette. Not impressed

Amazing staff. Genuine caring. Clean, modern facility. My mother passed away just over a week ago. They were able to do everything necessary at this time of great loss, quickly and efficiently. We held a Celebration of Life for my mom, complete with food, desserts, and even an open bar (2 drink max.). We were allowed to prep for an hour ahead of time which we didn't really need as they took care of most of it. Anything we added or modified was happily supported. Everything was wonderful. Once the event was over, they didn't rush us out the door either, we had time to wrap up conversations, gather our things, and head out, feeling as best we could in such a difficult situation. Thank you Brock & Visser, very impressed.

If I could give a higher rating I would. They were supportive and compassionate with our family. My Mom's Celebration of life and burial was exactly what we hoped it would be. Pam went above and beyond for our family. Communication was excellent and emails were responded to so quickly. I would definitely recommend Brock and Visser.

Very kind and compassionate staff. My family unfortunately lost two loved ones this year, however, the staff went above and beyond to make it easier both times. I highly recommend them.
