The Smorgasbord Deli | “ Smorgasbord” is a Scandinavian word which means the great cold table - an enormous variety of delectable hot and cold foods served as a buffet. The connotation of smorgasbord includes not only food items but any conglomeration of a great variety of things and as such, The Smorgasbord certainly fills the bill. Within its walls you will find a restaurant, a Deli featuring meats, cheeses and specialty groceries from northern Europe, fair trade groceries, local groceries, fair trade gifts and cards, fair trade chocolate, and a great meeting place for progressive groups such as the Council of Canadians and the Philosophers’ Café.

Extremely welcoming and lovely cafe. Able to order food to go or dine in, lovely gift shop and garden as well.Had a wheat wrap, organic roasted turkey, was a delight!Great place for good food, quickly if needed, and support friendly helpful locals!

Just went to The Smorgasbord for the first time. I was a bit surprised that a sandwich would cost $12 but I figured I would give them a try. The sandwich was so small and had barely any fillings. It was done by the time I made it to Dairy Queen where I went for lunch after my appetizer.

Incredible staff and proper high quality home food. Soup and sandwiches done better than anyone else. Managed by a woman known as a mother to the community and served with love. Everytime I'm in town I make a point of going in for a frikadiller sandwich and a latte. One bite and I feel like I'm home. I would recommend this spot above all to any who enjoy no frills great food.

We stopped here on our way to banff from Vancouver. The misses was craving something light and fresh so we came upon this deli. The food was spectacular but even better was the warm inviting environment and the courteous staff working here. There is lots of charm here and also again everyone was so pleasant and nice. The meal was exactly what was needed. The hospitality and conversation a bonus.I highly recommend this place.

Went for a couple sandwiches, bread very stale, small sandwich, not good.Very slow service. Two sandwiches with water. $29.00 with tip.I don't like tipping before the service is rendered. Staff should make tips on there quality of service they provide.
