A big spruce tree fell up top of old graves dating back to 1800s

I wanted to go visit my brother today . The wonderful woman at the office gave me a map . The amazing workers that came to help me find my brothers plot were so caring and patient and I appreciate it so much. Thank you ❤️

very old and storied place - many from 1800's, one older... works for my family....

I have family dating back to 1806 in this cemetery in the older section. St. Catharines has a rich history!

Family members on both sides. Very well maintained and a pleasant walk with interesting headstones and statues.

The outdoor cemetery is very well kept and makes for a very interesting & serene walk. Today when I visited the mausoleum I was so surprised to see many spider webs. If I was coming to pay my respects to a friend or family member I would be quite upset to see the cobwebs hanging down; so that is why I am saying the indoor mausoleum could be better maintained. The outdoor Cemetery is in very good condition however and is well maintained. If you can take a few hours and walk throughout the whole cemetery, you can catch a glimpse of many interesting headstones. Some are lighthearted and some are heartbreaking but well worth the walk through. I didn't take any photographs of the headstones, but instead concentrated elsewhere. You will see many rabbits running throughout the cemetery.

Today's Tragedy=I walk or cycle through victoria lawn everyday! Almost! I know almost every sight? Right down to little Darlene Joyce Campbell who lived and died in feb. 1961Today I found one had been disturbed?... An Antique Home made Marker tho it is still in tact it is in need of restoration! To anyone who disturbs the dead a donation can be made directly to Victoria Lawn Cemetery! In the Name Of the Higgs Clan! Thank you... If you see anything disturbing on your walk or cycle through victoria lawn plez report to any hard working near by???!!!! On guard for thee!

I have many friends and family members buried in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. While researching my Family Tree, I have found many more family members this summer (2022) in the Old Cemetery, that were buried in the 1800's. I just finished making gardens infront of their graves and in total, I have done 21! I'm 62 yrs old , 7th Generation in St. Catharines. I look in Marketplace ads for free edging stones or bricks on Facebook and plant perennials that will come up every year. The staff in the VLC Office are AMAZING and always willing to help me when I was searching for a family member's grave. The Maintenance Staff do a great job keeping the grounds trimmed and neat, and are very caring when preparing a grave for a newly lost loved one. Thank you Victoria Lawn Cemetery for everything! Forgotten, found and forever remembered.
