We have used Design House on two different occasions both for major design + renovation projects. The first time there were minor issues that eventually got resolved and so we decided to use them again for the next renovation project.This second time using them could not have been a worse experience in every sense.Instead of leaving negative reviews, I always reach out and ask to speak to the owner of the company in hopes to resolve the issues instead. We asked for the owner to call us back in January & it is now May. Due to the lack of customer care & communication I feel it’s important to share my experience so that anyone else considering this company for design services or renovations can beware & use a different company to avoid running into a similar negative experience.Here are the highlights of the main points of where this project went wrong:1. The designer who was leading our project quit prior to completion. This wouldn’t have been a big deal had there been a smooth transition between the next designer taking over the project. All they would have had to do is read over the email communications to understand where the project left off but that didn’t happen. There was no smooth transition between taking over the project, it was extremely unorganized and many things that had previously been finalized with the original designer, were completely missed. This resulted in us having to intervene and sift through e-mails ourselves to resend the proper information. When your paying Design House per email and phone call, having to relay information that was already finalized is rework that we did not need to pay for. We didn't hire Design House so that we would be the ones having to oversee the project and keep track of all the details.2. There were numerous times that the contractor had spent days working and completing tasks that looked sloppy and unfinished. We had to intervene far too many times on things that should have been completed accurately in the first place. These were very base level things, like steps being lopsided & baseboards being different sizes. Way too much rework was done on this project & we opted to use “Design House’s” contractor which was much more expensive. We thought we were paying for peace of mind and exceptional attention to detail. This couldn’t be further from what actually happened.3. Their contractor showed up unplanned & unannounced one day, set our home security alarm off while we were away out of town for the weekend, resulting in the police having to show up to our residence. This was extremely stressful as we were under the impression someone had broken into our home. The contractor left before the police arrived, didn’t call us to tell us it was him. No one from Design House called. We only found out later that afternoon that it was in fact the contractor and he said that he didn’t hear the alarm going off. I found this very interesting considering it’s a loud home security alarm and the fact that he fled the scene before police arrived within 10 minutes. If he didn’t hear the alarm why did he drove an hour to our house to work for 10 minutes and then leave? This was dishonest and concerning behaviour from a contractor and the fact that Design House didn’t tell us he was coming was inexcusable. The police couldn’t believe it when we told them that evening what actually happened.5. Finally and most importantly, it's extremely concerning that we had asked to speak to the owner to address our concerns with no contact throughout the entire course of 5 months. An owner that is too busy to properly & professionally address his clients, is not anyone I would ever continue to work with or ever recommend anyone else. I think that truly speaks volumes for itself.Would not recommend.

Andrea at Design House was a pleasure to work with. She helped us come up with a design vision for the main floor of our new house. I shared with her our style preferences and the budget we had in mind and she returned with a design plan that impressed both me and my husband! Andrea was very professional and responded to our questions in a timely fashion. I will most definitely seek her advice for future design projects!

I hired Design House to design and renovate my new bagel shop called Buzz Bagelz at the corner of Richmond and Dundas. I am extremely happy with how it came out! Andrea and Sinem were my main contacts and they were always available to talk or come by the shop to discuss the ongoing renovation with me. They came up with an amazing design and executed it to perfection. I have been getting amazing feedback from my customers on the design of the shop. Thank you all for the hard work that went into designing and building out the space. I couldn't have asked for a better design team!

This company is the worst of all time. My wife and I used them for a renovation project and they botched the whole job after one of their designers left the company. We addressed our concern and asked to speak with the owner and he refused to contact us. Without the owner even trying to contact us at any point, they they sent our measly $300 remaining bill to a collection agency. Can you believe that a company would be so shallow as to send a botched job to a collection agency? Doesn't get worse than this folks beware!

Design House London and their team were fantastic. Truly demonstrated superior customer service - listened to client's vision and delivered an exceptional result. As home owner's, it's difficult to picture a new space. Andrea and her team were able to transform an existing space into a modern and sleek design. All the trades that worked with them were professional and the clean up was exceptional. They treated our house like it was their house. If you need to spruce up your home, then Design House London is the company you want to use.

Design House turned out to be the best decision we made when we decided to renovate and furnish our house . They helped with the furniture , the flooring, the paints, for every room including the kitchen - down to the tiniest detail. I cannot begin to tell you how easy they made everything for us. They went out of their way to understand our choices and what we wanted . It was a huge task taken off our shoulders and done with excellence. They patiently answered every phone call and email , accommodating the changes we put in , when we changed our minds on certain places . We are very grateful for the amazing job they did .But most importantly they were professional and honest and stuck to the time frame given. We have no regrets. Our house is now a home and we love it.

Had some work done on my home and this company was the worst. I should have listened to the bad reviews, they are spot on accurate. Will be spreading the word around the community about how terrible this company is so further situations can be avoided. Did poor work quality and also very unprofessional communications. Did not meet any deadlines.

Over the course of the summer I did my co-op placement here for the Honour's Bachelor of Interior Design program at Fanshawe College. The experience was truly incredible and I could not have asked for a better company to work for. Design House London has a (small but mighty) team of highly qualified individuals with many years experience. The company always goes above and beyond to ensure client satisfaction in order to create the best designs possible. From creating design packages, developing floorplans and renderings, understanding furniture and fixture specification, and much more, I learned a lot working under Andrea. Although my time was short, I truly could not have asked for a better co-op experience to help prepare me for what is next post-graduation. Aside from all that, the personal connections the designers make with the clients (and myself) are a huge advantage of choosing this company as they will be there every step of the way to exceed expectations on your commercial or residential project. My husband and I hired the Design House last year to do several cosmetic projects, and one renovation project in our home.We knew going into this that we did not want to be project managers of a project the size of ours. We wanted to be as hands off as we could be.Our main contact was with designer Andrea Bursey.She managed our project, and was our design consultant all the way through.She was extremely professional, detailed, and so very kind and generous. She oversaw the project while juggling many others, and we always felt tended to even during some down times, and lulls between work being done.I cannot imagine what she went through aligning contractors, having to deal with supply shortages, and all the mess that COVID created for the people she relies on.She handled my obsessive attention to detail with grace and kindness. Always making sure that we/I was happy in the end.It was her top priority.We stood back and watched our home go from a frumpy, schlumpy, dark, depressing hole to a bright, light and airy space that makes us feel happy, lighter, and more organized and put together.My husband and I comment all the time on the benefits to our mental health. They've been HUGE! Everything is brighter and less depressing.We absolutely could not have done this project without Andrea and her team!!! I would have drowned in stress.I need to give a shout out to Jeremy and Mike, their painting contractors. Absolutely the most friendly, and enjoyable of the bunch that spent time in our home. I will miss having them here!THANK YOU Andrea and the Design House for boosting our quality of life, decorating our home like it was your own, and caring about us all along the way.

We worked with Design House London to redesign and re-imagine the use of our space at the London Community Mikvah. We found them to be pleasant and professional. They were most accommodating, their designs are creative and beautiful, and their fees are reasonable.Rabbi Lazer and Basie Gurkow
