The Dolar Shop is a unique and high-end take on hot pot. Notably, how they serve everyone with an individual hotpot soup base, have high end touches on their serving dishes and cutlery, and beautifully displayed food. You can expect a northern Chinese taste in their dishes, with very spicy options. I can handle my spice but this place takes it right to the limit for spicy. They have a sauce bar, which sounds weird, but is awesome because you can tailor make a couple of dipping sauces to pair with your meal, or load up on fruits and pickled veggies. Don't worry about getting your clothes dirty, because they even supply you with a bib if you're a messy eater like me. To top it off they serve soft serve ice cream in a cone at the end of your meal. The customer service is definitely top notch. We felt taken care-of when it came down to them checking up on us, but also with how they explained how long to cook each dish. The restaurant itself feels large, clean and busy. It's a great place for large groups if you book in advance. You can expect to pay a minimum of $50 per person or more. If you're looking for something different, Dolar shop is definitely a top spot for hotpot in Vancouver and is something to try when you have friends visiting from out of town or celebrating a special occasion. Come during happy hour or late night happy hour for more affordable pricing.

Food and service was excellent topped with free soft serve ice cream. Love the sauce bar where you can make your own sauce. There were 6 of us and indicated right away that the table can only heat up to 5 hot pot surfaces at a time (most likely due to electrical capacity. Two of us shared a broth which is no problem at all.

Came here around 15 minutes after open and didn’t have to wait, no line up. Got seated quickly and servers are nice and got us set up right away. Seemed very considerate that they seated all the couples in one section of the restaurant, and families in another. The ipad menu is mostly in Chinese, but the servers will explain what the items are if you ask and need help. Highly recommend the lunch hotpot meal sets!Very good value, we got the lamb and the beef meal set, everyone gets their own little hotpot and a plate piled with veggies, spam, and quail eggs. Veggies were fresh and tasty. The meat was delicious and plentiful.The server made us a special spicy sauce, but you can also go and make your own sauce as well (along with some fresh fruit), all included with the meal set. They have a waiter that constantly wanders around the table in case you need anything, and the food also came out very fast. Everything tasted amazing, and there is also a free ice cream after the meal as well. I definitely will be coming again!

Great service! It was our first time coming to Dolar Shop and the staff was so helpful by showing us around the the menu (which had a wide verity btw) Some may think it’s pricey (which it is) but when you get their special set combos it’s really worth the price. I love that you guys give free desert and just the overall vibe of the restaurant was great. I would definitely come again just for their pork bone broth. We can during happy hour (which I recommend you should come by at happy hour) everything you see here is about $71

One of my favourite hotpot places to go. Food is good (but slightly expensive), service is great as the staff is attentive and quick to provide you with dishes and address questions. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the % charge when using a credit card to settle the bill. You can get it waived if you do a survey which can be annoying. I really like the fruit/salad bar.

Quite good and spacious seating compared to other hot pot places. I liked the variety of menu items and the Ice cream cone at the end although it is not the charcoal cone and macaron on top as it used to have. The price is still expensive but the seafood is fresh which is important. The Appy snacks were ok, the sauce selection is good. Things looked clean with the marble counters.

I had a good experience the food was good. Noodles were good. Price was a bit pricy for everything.The bathrooms were nice they had Q-tips, mouthwash and toothpicks.In the waiting area there was popcorn, chocolate, mints and fruit mixed water.Service was nice and there is unlimited ice cream conesThey also give you starter fruits when you arrive.

Awesome experience here at Dolar Shop. The interior is bright, beautiful and elegant; feels like you stepped into an establishment for some high tea except it’s hot pot. The establishment was very clean and peaceful. All the staff here were super helpful and respectful and answered any questions I had.As expected, the prices are higher but the quality of the food, broths, and service is terrific which justifies the cost.I was extremely blown away by the both broths that I had ordered. I have been to other hot pot places before and have ordered the tomato broth multiple times and I expected it to be very similar, however the tomato broth also has oxtail in it which add just another element that elevates the flavor. I honestly could just drink the soup all day and eat it with noodles; very impressed. But what fascinated me more was the “equisite silver soup”. This soup base was like nothing I have ever had. Not sure how to even describe the flavor but it was unique and just hit different. Both broths were great for cooking all types of meat and seafood. I ordered quite a bit of food (accident) but everything was very fresh and arrived in relatively quick fashion.The server offered to make us the signature dipping sauce which was honestly better than the self serve that I made with myself. They had a nice self serve bar w all the different sauces one would need and had gloves for you to wear to help with the spread of COVID.If you go during on the day of your birthday they even have some sort of prize draw. I went a day before my birthday so I didn’t get to experience that but the server did bring out a “birthday noodle” (some sort of noodle with an egg on top cooked in some broth) which was a nice gesture. Noodle wasn’t great as it was overcooked but I can’t complain when something is free.If you want to save a few dollars, go during happy hour as it is 30% off which makes it quite “affordable” (or more affordable over regular price lol). Ice cream at the end was a nice touch to end a enjoyable meal. Highly recommend and would go again.

Pro: good food quality, clean and nice atmosphere, one pot per diner.Con: pricey, service was quick in the late afternoon but waiters were rigid lacking of personal connections and real attention. We had to wait for a long time to heat up the soup base until we found out that one of the stoves didn’t work properly. Several waiters walked around, yet we had to wave twice to get it sorted out.

I really enjoyed my dining experience at the Dolar Shop. There is a large variety of food items to choose from in the menu. We ordered a few chef’s favorites and dishes that were really good (see the attached photos). Their service and professionalism is excellent compared to other hot pot restaurants, although it can be more expensive. The environment is also very nice and clean. Everyone gets their own pot of soup and I highly recommend coming here to try the food out at least once. A great place for late night meals!
