Avoid this man at all costs, he should retire. I am in healthcare and was shocked at his attitude. He was harsh, judgemental and made faulty assumptions. I had to call him out on it. On top of being no medical help, I’m a healthy, normal weight and with him being over weight, he thought I was too thin. My GP concurred he was completely off base.

I have a severe case of Lupus, with more autoimmune diseases as well.He’s an amazing Doctor who cares about his patients. I’ve given him some serious scares inwhich I e been hospitalized for 4-5 weeks at a time.He is honest and no nonsense but incredibly compassionate.I’ve had other specialists and none of them have come close to him. I’m in a serious flare now and he’s going to contact the powers that be to have me covered on a new medication... this is how much he cares. Those letters take up a huge part of his day... he has never ever charged me for any letters.I would highly recommend him..

Until meeting Dr.Baker I felt I would never have answers to pain and deformities. I have been to NUMEROUS specialists. Dr.Baker is a one of a kind rheumatoid sleuth! He was the first and only doctor who actually ‘examined me’. I’m saddened that he is retiring but thankful I got the chance to be under his diligent care. Thank you to Dr.Baker for being so thorough and dedicated in your career. Time to kick your feet up and relax! I wish you the best retirement ever!!

All I.can say is that advocating for oneself is not unjustified. A professional medical practitioner may hold a high status in their field and may demand the respect from their patients who have not upheld a similar position. I believe that the patient who is going through symptoms of side effects may be justified in speaking out about medication side effects.. The daily trauma of dealing with the medical condition that brought them to the doctor in the first place, is more than enough than to deal, combined with the side effects of some of the strongest, life changing medications that have been developed to treat arthritic symptoms. It is beyond my scope of understanding that the symptoms of an individual can be utterly and completely dismissed and ignored . The tiresome quote.“According to medical results and clinical tests, that you should not be experiencing any of the symptoms that you are telling me about “.This coupled with, “ You do not need to suffer, there are medication that can take care of that “I do not have to say anymore.One thing I would like to add is that we all have to go through some kind of illness in our lifetime no matter how invincible we think we are!

I have been his patient for over 10yrs and couldn't be happier as my quality of life keeps improving. Thanks for all your patience and understanding!! And another 6 years at least and I just keep feeling better and better. Thanks Dr. B

I have gone looking for a good rheumatologist for years now. I have seen five different rheumatologist, till I found Dr. Baker. I have dealt with different auto immune diseases I started having flare ups eight years ago now. It took till I found dr. Baker till I actually got some help. He is amazingly caring . The first appointment I had with him he spent two hours with me. When he is with you it feels like you’re the only one he cares for. If you need a good rheumatologist I swear I have seen everyone in Victoria, and he is only one that really cared and did his job truly helping people.

After 2 orthopedic specialists and 2 rheumatologists telling me nothing is wrong Dr Baker finally gave me a diagnosis after all these years. The first doctor that actually gave me a physical and took the time to listen to me. Very good and you can tell he is passionate about what he does.
