It looks a bit dodgy, like an auto wrecker in the parking lot, but don't let that fool you. Top quality mechanics who charge according to what needs to be done and how much the parts cost, nothing more, nothing less. You won't be blown away with the head-pats and friendliness, but your car/van will get fixed quickly and at a fair price. Highly recommend this place.

These guys are over the top excellent. Old school, truly dedicated. The *aloof* person, is only aloof until it is your turn. He spent an hour driving around with me after my car was finished. He took me on a Historical tour of the area, and then tweaked one more item on the VW after we arrived back at the shop. resourceful, helpful. good spot.

I dropped my car off almost 2 months ago to have some work done on the suspension as well as an out of province vehicle inspection. The only updates I’ve gotten on are when I call them myself. Last time I called I was told that they had sourced the required parts and needed to find time to work on the car. That was two weeks ago. It’s understandable that hiccups can happen when working on used vehicles, but it’s unacceptable that I’ve been left in the dark for so long. I obviously can’t speak for the quality of the work done, which is unfortunate, but I would not recommend having your car serviced here.

Ellice Automotive rebuilt our classic VW dune buggy motor. Neil and the crew are truly knowledgeable, fair and took time to explain thoroughly any questions we may have had. Excellent service & value for the money spent. Also rebuilt the cylinder heads on my Harley-Davidson. They can do it all.

Just spoke with Neil the owner. He basically accused me of wasting his time, saying I'm not spending all day on this" when I asked him for a quote to replace 4 disc rotors on my GTI. That was said to me about 90 seconds into the phone call. Apparently he got the impression I was only asking for the fronts (I don't know how he got that idea)

They got me in right away once I was able to get towed there at the end of business hours. By the time I was off of work the following day it was repaired. They were very professional and pleasant to deal with. I will definitely use them again and will recommend to my friends and family.

AVOID BY ALL MEANS. Brought my car to them to be repaired, the guy at the front desk told me he would provide a quote, never heard back. Called them and he said he said he did not want to work on my car after not hearing back for a weeks. Asked him again, he said he would provide a quote. He never got back to me a second time, followed up and they towed my car away without telling me. I have never dealt with such unprofessionalism. I was left with a 1900 tow + impound fee and all I wanted to do was get my car fixed. I can not fathom how terrible the experience was dealing with the employees who were almost mocking me and throwing it in my face that this had happened. Once again, avoid by all means.

I have had my 1992 VW Cabrio for 30 years - my son drives it now. Ellice is our go to and only place the car goes for mainenance. Jay has been looking after the car mechanically forever - he is amazing. Recently I purchased a 1972 VW Van that ultimately needed some work and engine adjustments. When I brought my vehicle to Ellice, I never expected the service I would receive.The three main people that I know worked on my van were Neil, the owner, Jason and Gus. When you visit a specialist like this, you are paying for years of expertise and knowledge, not just service. They didn’t just fix my van, they resurrected it and gave it new life and gave me the confidence in driving it again. When I brought it in, it drove like it was 50 years old. When I picked it up, it drove like she was given engine facelift! I honestly couldn’t believe it.In addition, they could not have been more helpful, supportive and genuine and it was an absolute pleasure dealing with them.You can’t find knowledgeable people like this at many automotive service centres, their experience is second to none and they think outside the box when it comes to fixing these old babies.Don’t hesitate to bring your vehicle here, you will NOT be disappointed.
