Michelle Orchid Nails

Booked a pedicure for myself and a mani/pedi (polish only) for my daughter. Our appointment time was not honoured and we were seated 25 minutes after our scheduled time. This meant I didn’t have time to get my pedicure. My daughter received her polish and unfortunately 6 of her finger nails had the polish completely fall off within a couple of hours. By the end of the next day there was no polish remaining. Extremely disappointing.

I’ve been going here for seven years and I feel like the longer I go here the better they treat me. Huygh and Leah have done my nails and do excellent work. I always ask for an extra layer on my shellac and it lasts way longer. My current mani has been going for four weeks without a single crack, chip or tip wear. Yes ladies, four weeks.

I actually really like this place because the nail techs are all very sweet and I like how they will keep your nail file for you for when you come back again. You pay for the nail file the first time you use it, and then they label it with your name so you can use it at your next appointment. Environmentally friendly!I come here just for my pedicures. While the massage chairs are old and do not necessarily work the best, I was impressed with the staff and how kind they were. One even took the time to help me with my broken toe nail when I told her I was freaked out looking at it. I like supporting small and hardworking businesses and this place is conveniently located close to my apartment. I will be coming back here again!

Love my nails! They were so patient and kind to listen to what I wanted! Would highly recommend

I’ve been getting my nails done since the age of 15 and this is hands down the best nail salon I’ve been to! Hoa is my favourite technician because she goes above and beyond to provide the best service. I once had a bruise on my ankle and she made sure that she’s gentle when she’s massaging my foot. This other time I had left my sandals behind my seat and she grabbed it for me after the end of the appointment and helped me put it on!

I used to get my nails done since October 2020. I started in a salon in West Vancouver, but as it was too far, i changed my salon around May or June to Orchid nail salon. I’ve never had any problem in the last salon. But, here in Orchid, every time when i went to refill , at least 2 of my nails looked like a picture that i attached below this review! And obviously Michelle removed all the acrylic and tip, and re did everything, as a result it would cost me too much! I can clearly say that each refill costed me above $75! I removed it finally and now my nails can heal and breath after all those unprofessional services!

Really happy with the gel manicure I got at Michelle Orchid! Made an appointment and they were on schedule when we arrived.My manicurist did a nice job with the design I described to her, and the gel is smooth, and I’m really happy with the shape of my nails (I had cut my own nails horrendously before so she really improved them haha).My friend was also very happy with her manicure and the employees were flexible when she wanted to change her polish color after seeing one finger done.

I did a Acrylic Full Set in Michelle Orchid Nails salon and it took about 2 hours and after I went home I saw that it was the worst nail Acrylic I had ever done and I called the salon and they said they would fix it again and because I had to going on a business trip, I could not return immediately. after 1 week when I left, they said you were late and they want to charge me for fix my nails, but this is not a worst thing, the worst part is that after 2 weeks my nails fell out completely and I realized One of my nails had a fungus and they are not responsive.

Acrylic Full Set with Gel Polish - painful to extremely PAINFUL at times, 2 cuticles carved until they bled at the manicure, 5 cuticles total were scraped. Very used and unsanitary tools, poor communication among staff leading to incorrect service being provided*Photos are from 5 days after so my cuticles even had time to heal and are still raw*- My nail tech took the electric nail file to drill away my cuticles, it was very painful and 2 of my cuticles bled. The electric file had white dust on it so I'm pretty sure it's not cleaned between customers. I washed my cuticles with soap religiously after the appointment since I was very afraid of infection. My nail tech blamed me for her injuring me - I held my hands very still and did not flinch even when she was wounding me - she said it was because I was looking at my fingers and that made me tilt them towards me?!?!?!? She then instructed me to look away and demonstrated how I would not be wounded by the nail file if I didnt look - during that demonstration SHE WOUNDED ANOTHER CUTICLE.- My cuticles now bleeding and raw were wiped down with alcohol which was extremely painful- The nail file and buffer used were very used and white with nail dust - disgustingly unsanitary- Made an appointment for a GEL MANICURE on NATURAL NAILS, came in and was greeted by the lady who scheduled my appointment. She confirmed with me that I wanted a GEL MANICURE on NATURAL NAILS. Was told the design I wanted would be $20 extra which I agreed to. A different nail tech sat down with me and asked me if I wanted my nails long like my reference. I had grown out my nails a fair bit so I said yes please. She proceeds to cut my nails short and jagged which had me very confused. She then proceeds to apply a nail extension and it was clear there was a miscommunication among the staff and my nail tech thought I was getting acrylics. At that point my natural nails were jagged and short so I agreed to have the extensions put on --> I was informed the new price would now be $80, which I agreed to very reluctantly. In the end I paid $96 for the service ($84 plus 15% tip) and it was not at all reflected in the quality of the experience or the outcome.- The resulting manicure looks fine from normal distances. Up close the polish is patchy, theres some airbubbles and a trapped hair. The nail tech did not do a good job of cleaning the skin around the nail and islands of polish were lifting from the surrounding skin following the manicureDO NOT GO HERE, the result is not worth the money and there's a serious risk of infection with their dirty tools and the nail tech's agressive cuticle mowing
