Antisocial Skateboard Shop
As a beginner skater, I was a little intimidated going into a legit skate shop but when I stepped in the door, I immediately felt welcome. Michelle and the rest of the staff are super chill, friendly and knowledgable. This was my first ever skateboard and they set me up nicely. I had so much fun on the used deck I got initially, that I went back to grab my first brand new deck the next day. Same great experience both visits. Also, after doing some research after the purchase, I realized that their prices are better than other local shops and even some online stores. I'm stoked to have a great spot like this just up the street. Antisocial will definitely be my go to skate shop!

Everything about this shop is exactly as it should be. Great people who do so much for our community in so many ways. They are not interested in sucking up to make sales so go elsewhere if you like that vibe. These are real, dedicated, knowledgeable folks who care about making positive change.

OG in East Van. Owners do a lot for skateboarding in the local community and the greater skate community. Support your local skate shop.

My local skate shop! Of course I support them. Plus the artwork, flower shop, and overall sense of community. In my opinion, it sets the bar for what every core skate shop should be.i have supported them since day one and will continue to!

I've been here 3 or 4 times because it's the most conveniently located skate shop in the area, however I can't say I enjoy going here. The majority of visits, staff are curt and sometimes completely oblivious to me being there, and there's an atmosphere of feeling of being looked down on, as if the store is only for sponsored skaters or something. The store itself is a unique space like a skateboard art museum or skate magazine come to life. The selection is minimalist, curated for a very specific 'skater' look, and there's a solid selection of boards and components.Overall it's a cool place, a Mount Pleasant local business staple, but I wish I felt more welcome when I visited.

Antisocial Skateboard Shop
I had never been into anti-social before but have heard lots of amazing things about the store and the community that surrounds it. I was excited to check out the shop and went in with my female friend today to pick up some new bushings for a couple of my boards. I am really disappointed to say that we were completely ignored by all the men working there. Not that it should matter, but we were both wearing pretty causal dresses so maybe it wasn't obvious we are apart of the skate community. Nonetheless, everybody working seemed like they had something better to do than ask us if we were looking for anything or needed help. We waited at the counter by the bushings & bearings while the employees working the counter walked away from us to go hang out with their co-workers. Usually I would understand that they are busy or maybe had to attend to something but the two of us were some of the only customers in there besides a few other boys with their skateboards (who were hanging out with the other employees). We waited a few minutes while anyone who could help us migrated in our opposite direction and it was very obvious they were avoiding us. It's really dis-heartening to see as a female skateboarder (and female skate group organizer) we're still deemed not as important and left in the sidelines. I'll still support the shop and everything they do for the skate community, however I think there needs to be some staff education on treating everybody like they belong in the skate world.
