I went with my friend when she had to take her cat who had a burst abscess. The vet handed her a topical antibiotic ointment and proceeded to tell her to just apply it. This happened 2 more times because the abscess popped 2 more times until my friend had to take her cat to the emergency vet due to a bigger abscess popping that they told her to put just the ointment on. The vet then proceeded to say she never wanted to see my friend or her animals again because she gave accurate medical history which included the topical ointment that was prescribed for the problem the emergency vet had to fix. The vet at thousand island animal hospital is a vet who is burnt out and no longer giving proper care to your family pets. She is rude and just brushes off your concerns. She needs her license taken away and sued and then just maybe she will realize how horrible she is.

If you're a new patient make sure you have your pets records at first appointment. Vet is pretty good , they see you pretty quickly, decently priced about 50 just for a visit

Hands-down the best veterinary care I've had. I live in Canada and go over the border to see Dr. Carla Bender. My dog wouldn't be alive today had it not been for her sharp interventions. It's frightening to me how little consistency there is among vets - this would never be permitted in human medicine. Very grateful to everyone at this clinic and all they've done for little Beans!

We were clients there and when I called with a question rather then giving me a response they said I had to take my dog to the emergency clinic they couldn’t give me an answer. Our dog more then a month after this is still in amazing health and didn’t need medical attention. They just want to waste your money here. Then black list you if you get upset with them. Please if you are a client of Dr Benders don’t give her any attitude cause she will get rid of you too. It’s sad vets here including this 1 are allowed to do this to people who just asked a simple question. Vets should start having their licenses revoked. The last time I was in the clinic the staff acted like they could of cared less about me or my pet same as Dr Bender.

I quite honestly may never take my pets anywhere else if I can help it. Dr. Bender is very professional and very knowledgeable and is also such a sweetheart. All of her staff are friendly and caring as well. For the care our pets get, the pricing is genuinely fair, and they work with CareCredit so anything over $200 is interest free for 6 months. Also also, they're definitely taking the pandemic seriously and I always appreciate that.Edit-- the above is all still 100% true and has been for years. Dr. Bender and her staff are simply wonderful.

We were camping in the area and realized that our dog's rabies vaccination was about to expire. We called and they accommodated us to give our dog his booster. I am so thankful for this Veterinarian. She saved the day! I would highly recommend her.

Don't bother calling. Amber will probably answer. She doesn't care about you or your pet. Worst customer service we've ever seen. Take your animal somewhere where folk actually care.

My three cats have gone here for a year and have consistently continued to be sick and in pain. Even after asking the vet to go further with the treatment and NOT prescribe only Clavamox an eighth time she wouldn’t do anything but that. My cat Ladybug suffers from a skin infection that Thousand Islands vet refused to catch because they didn’t want to look any further than scratching the surface and because of this she almost died on December 1st because her wounds had gotten to a point where she needed surgery- thankfully the East Syracuse vet took on the surgery and did amazing and they offer exceptional care! But it gets worse, after seeing the vet in Syracuse (because it was an emergency visit) Dr.Bender stated she no longer wanted to see me or my cats because of the petty assumption that I slandered her business by telling the emergency vet the truth so my cat could receive life saving care. I am disgusted that some petty drama that she made up means more to her than helping out animals. The staff there is great but the vet IS NOT!

I cannot begin to explain how amazing this place is. As chaotic and busy as they were, they got my dog Sam in right away with suspected kennel cough. The receptionist Chelsea was so understanding, amazing, and so nice and I am so grateful she helped me when nobody else would take Sam in. All the staff were wonderful. Dr Bender was amazing! She was so busy with many patients to care for and still came in with a smile on her face and asked if I had any questions afterwards. She explained everything she was giving Sam and doing to him. She even answered my 8 year old daughters questions and comments. Thank you Dr. Bender and staff for being so amazing, I can only imagine how hectic it can get in there! Highly recommend!

I am very pleased with this veterinary practice. The staff is always accommodating, willing to work with the clients and it has always been easy to contact the office and get appointments. The Veteranarians are very knowledgeable.
