Shoppers Drug Mart

This Shopper’s Drug Mart is pretty central in Winnipeg on Portage Ave. It’s open until midnight which is pretty convenient. Staff have always been friendly. Good place to pick up snacks. Otherwise, it’s much like any other Shopper’s. Of course, they have a pharmacy, but they also have a decently sized beauty area if you’re looking for cosmetics.

I have been shopping here, minimum once a week for over 9 YEARS!!! Today I’ve decided to acknowledge the security guard who works Saturday mornings starting at 8am. He wears glasses and has short black hair. I have approached him before (and video recorded our interaction), about him constantly profiling me and following me around the store. I have never been made to feel so utterly uncomfortable at a place I frequently spend my hard earned money at, as the way I’m made to feel every shopping experience I have at this location while he is working. It’s unfortunate there isn’t a closer shoppers drugmart, or I would obviously go to a different location, but alas, this is the one most convenient for me. Since my video recorded interaction where I asked him why he was profiling me, and what it was about me that makes me look like some sort of criminal or deviant, (which he denied), he’s now taken to taking notations of every time I enter and exit the store. I have also documented this, as I took notice of this several months ago, as well as documented how he DOESN’T do this to other folks who enter and exit the store. I have clearly been singled out, and I find this to be grossly discriminating. Someone needs to do something about this security guard before I submit the documentation of my video recording, (which illustrates, quite clearly, him targeting and profiling ME specifically out of a store full of shoppers, and it also completely disarms the excuse he used in his attempts to deny and deflect this behaviour ) as well as the documentation of the specific targeting of myself over other patrons of this establishment, to organizations who can do something about the discrimination I’m experiencing. Other security guards are totally fine with me, in fact, I have a rapport with one of the guards named “Renee”. This individual is subjecting me to discriminatory and prejudicial treatment, and I will not tolerate it any longer. Management, you need to reply to this review.

Went to pick up my prescription today after calling and being told it was ready. Waited almost 25 minutes after arriving. The woman behind the counter was flippant and incredibly unfriendly. I was appalled by the service I received here.

Absolute trash pharmacy. All of those old ladies are miserable and RUDE. I have already switched to another pharmacy.This ongoing issue NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED!!!

Ok so yesterday my dentist phoned in a prescription at around 9:30 am . I called at 2:00 pm and they said they didn’t get the prescription. I called the dentist back and he said that he called it in , they kept on checking on fax instead of phone messages and I requested them to check they’re phone messages. so I was playing phone tag with both dentist and pharmacy. I ended going down there and they said they got it. Then they gave me the wrong dosage of meds instead of 500 they gave me 250 so instead of just taking one I m taking 2 . I will not go back to them to fill prescription !! I have filled prescription there a couple of times!!

If I could give zero stars I would. This pharmacy consistently shorted my meds and filled my prescriptions late, if at all. For over a year, I had to call multiple times a month to get my monthly prescription filled. They wouldn't warn me if a prescription was about to expire and they would forget to fax the clinic to get it renewed, even after I asked - this resulted in multiple months where I would go days without meds.I stuck with them for a year and then finally gave up and switched to a different pharmacy. And, of course, they lost one of my prescriptions when sending my file to the new pharmacy, so again, I'm going without a medication. When I called, they denied that they ever had my file and hung up on me.I highly recommend going with a different pharmacy, or at least a different location, especially if you have medications that you take on a regular basis. There are other pharmacies in the area that can successfully dispense medications.I won't even get into how terrible the pharmacy's customer service was. Overall, it was a terrible experience and I will never go back.

Was going through chemotherapy and my doctor had sent in my prescription the day before chemo. Went to pick it up before chemo round and it wasn't ready (24 hours). Had to go after chemo to pick it up. When I got there it still wasn't ready (29 hours)...ended up laying on the floor for 45-60 mins while they prepared it. Sorry to the customers who heard me spewing into the garbage can by the blood pressure machine.Last round of chemo was mid-june. Cancer is back x3 (turbo-cancer). Not doing chemo anymore...will be doing sour sop tea, apricot kernels, black seed oil and cannabis oil.Just glad I won't have to come back to this pharmacy.

Fantastic experience at the pharmacy! Winnie and the rest of the staff are extremely professional and provide service in a very timely manner. All of my questions were answered and I felt at ease with the brand new medication. Even informed me of insurance information I didn’t think to ask about. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Will definitely do business here again.
