Legacy Auto Centre & Hashiriya Tuning

We have used Legacy Auto for several years. They have serviced our Fiat 500 and our Toyota Highlander Hybrid. When purchasing the Highlander I had them look over the car first, which gave me confidence in the purchase.Every interaction has been a positive one. I feel confident that they perform quality work at a reasonable price. Sean has twice went out of his way to source the same replacement product from cheaper vendors when he thought the quoted price at the dealership was too high, which I appreciate greatly.I wish I had found a trustworthy garage like Legacy years ago to bring my cars to. For anyone that is wondering if it is worth spending the extra money to get a service at the dealership, it is not.I have referred many friends here and had nothing but good feedback!

We took our car to Legacy for a few years, including for several major repairs and had generally positive experiences.Then, about 5 months ago, we tried to book an appointment but no one responded. We tried calling several times over the next 2 months but never heard bac. I wonder if they have gone out of business?We now take our car to another repair shop nearby and we've learned that several of the repairs that Sean's team did were poor quality and/or caused permanent damage to some engine components.This review used to be 5/5 stars but now I know better.

Excellent service!!I would recommend this shop to anyone. They are friendly, honest and provide detailed information and good advice. Very happy with the service I received and will use them again.

Brought them a tricky problem, my older Prius V that was exhibiting symptoms of a head gasket failure (known issue with higher mileage Prius). Dealer tried to take me down the road of trial and error troubleshooting (injector cleaning, Throttle body cleaning, coil pack change, etc) which would have been very expensive. Legacy did a proper diagnoses, quoted me a price with the caveat they would need the vehicle for weeks which I was OK with. Head gasket replacement on this vehicle is a tricky, finicky, complicated PITA of a job. Work was completed with a small cost overrun (nothing like the dealer cost). It has been 2 months and ~3000km without issue. Back to getting 5L/100km which is appreciated these days.

Took our car for an safety inspection. It failed. Front brake pads were too thin.We were quoted $540 to have new front pads, rotors resurface ( I think) and the rear brakes “greased” up. The quote seems fair - no issues with that.We decided to say no however, as we’re familiar with how to replace brake pads- got it done with Bosch brake pads (4) for 41$.Now because we did our own repairs on the car, we needed to bring back the vehicle for them to honour the 150$ safety that we paid- which they’re required to do by law.We called both their numbers numerous times, left a message and texted them twice - which have been read by the way.We understand they’re busy and it’s selfish for us to think they can fit us in at moments notice, but a courtesy call back or text back to simply book an appointment is all we’re asking.It’s been a week now, still no response.Ultimately, this review isn’t about the quote, we understand and appreciate the quote. This bad review is about them not returning our calls or our texts to get our vehicle certified upon them failing us to begin with.This makes us question how they do business. Are you guys not calling back because we did our own repairs and you guys gain nothing to have another look at our vehicle?Our permit to drive the vehicle for a safety has expired. They forced our hand to go elsewhere and we had to spend money on yet another safety inspection. We brought it to Canadian Tire of all places!! It passed with our 40$ brake repair!!Ultimately, they forced our hand to go elsewhere, they forced us to call numerous times and they ultimately made us stressed out and angry.So thank you for that, you guys have left us pretty bitter.By the way, safety inspection is 30$ cheaper at Canadian tire for those who need one.Ben and Mikaela2013 Nissan Rogue

Great shop in the heart of Ottawa. Easy to find location right off island park. Great service, friendly, and best of all way cheaper then our local dealership. Highly recommended!

Legacy Auto staff were nothing but super accommodating. Offering a loaner as I needed to work, keeping me updated of the issues they found as the work was being done, and even allowing minor adjustments to an alignment issue that was reoccurring. The alignment was not a fault of their own, and was a manufacturing defect.Many issues with the dealership were addressed by Sean and the other Techs working on my vehicle.Multiple vehicles taken to them over the years, and a few purchases as well.Thanks guys,Keep it up!

Have brought my car here several times. The last 3 of my visits was to figure out a mysterious rattle. Each time I brought my car in, it's always there for about 3 days, sometimes longer (despite making an appt ahead of time). And I'm always the one to phone in to check its status, never the other way around. I definitely agree with other reviews; they are not the greatest communicators. They also need to figure out a system to notify employees when someone is at the front. People are always standing around waiting forever until someone comes out to check.Anyway, the reason for the review is because during my last 3 visits of trying to fix this rattle, each time they fixed other items that they perceived to be the issue, only for me to have to come back with the same issue a third time. Over 900$ later ($761 + 261$ for 2 visits) after labour and parts, the rattle was still there. So on the third visit, they didn't charge me, and Pedro said the issue was fixed. Nice of them not to charge me, but Pedro didn't have the greatest attitude when I went to pick up the car. The rattle was gone for a few weeks, but is now back again. I've tried calling this garage several times, but they never pick up their phone. Better to just eat the costs and get it fixed elsewhere properly.

My review the other day would have been one star had I not gone to the shop today and talked to the main tech Pedro.Pedro is a very polite and well mannered young man who I hope opens his own shop one day.My experience with Legacy was not the greatest as Sean assumed another tech -from another shop- was giving me updates on my repairs. Although the tech gave him my contact information to give me updates. I had called Sean on more than one occasion and left more than one message the most recent being today around 3:40pm.I took it upon myself to go to the shop in person and to my luck the two techs were still on site and Pedro helped me.Sean needs to work on his communication and actually contact the people who contact him. I was told my repair would be done last Tuesday, if issues arise the owner should be notified, be it a tech being off sick or a part not coming in on time. I was given nothing but radio silence.I would recommend getting a receptionist to handle this issue.Thank you again to Pedro for being so kind and understanding and helping me with bringing my car home today! I really do believe you would do a wonderful job owning your own shop!

I went to Legacy Auto Centre for an alignment because they can service lowered cars. Originally my steering was all out of wack due to the new suspension that was installed on my vehicle a week prior. They not only fixed the issue, they gave me a discount too! My toe bars were horribly seized and the alignment took 2.5 hours. Kenny from Legacy Auto Centre only charged me an additional $25 for the extra time even though it took an additional hour and half! Not to mention it was a Friday and they were extremely busy, I felt extremely accommodated! I will never get an alignment done anywhere else after my positive experience with Legacy Auto Centre.
