Sunrise of Aurora

Very nice facility with friendly and supportive staff and management.

My parents moved to Sunrise Aurora 4 months ago and are glad they did. The level of care they are receiving at Sunrise far exceeds what they were used to at their previous home. All the staff are caring people who are a pleasure be around. I would recommend Sunrise Aurora to family and friends.

It is absolutely breath taking beautiful inside and out. Provides a huge range of senior care as age related impairments occurs. Very friendly, professional staff. Many many activity programs and amenities. Was impressed unfortunately I selected another senior residency, only because it is a smaller residency and nicely done as well.

i worked there for quite some time,and one day they fired me because i wasnt smiling enough and i wasnt approachable.They did not gave a verbal or written warning ,they just went ahead and gave me a letter saying i am being fired.Thanks for all the hard work i put in for nothing ,..they are really two faced people .I would not consider working there ever again

Our family have been associated with Sunrise for 3 years. We have nothing but great things to say about Sunrise!! The facility is excellent and the staff are caring and compassionate. During the past year of COVID 19 the boredom and isolation elderly people feel is real and concerning for all families. Everyone at Sunrise was available and allowed access to our mother as much as possible. We feel like the staff at Sunrise are our family after this past year. We appreciate what they have had to deal with ! Every Retirement home has never dealt with any thing like COVID, we are so happy our mom is there today. It could have been different.

My parents have been at this establishment since May 2021.The issue that we have experienced has been with upper management. They need major training in communication and problem solving. Instead they tend to get defensive and confrontational.The retirement home is definitely under staffed and the staff that exists are over worked. We notice the staff doing double shifts all too frequently.There also appears to be a lack of communication between the Wellness team and the Care Management team.Given that Sunrise is located in Canada where recycling programs are very popular, there appears to be little or no recycling in effect at Sunrise of Aurora. I notice food waste being thrown into the garbage on a daily basis". Even plastics and paper are thrown into the garbage. This is "a very big disappointment to me".During outbreaks when residents are being served meals in their rooms

My mom was a resident of this facility from March 2006 to March 2013. Quite along time to see her resident costs escalate to $8000 dollars a month for a semi private room. We had to move her from her original private room because of the escalating costs with little or no accountability from their so called accounts department. After phone calls from myself and brother we finally received her expenses for 2007 to 2013 for income tax reasons this past December 2018.My brother was POA for mom and did not pay Sunrise for five months and in doing so was subject to threatening emails from their admin stating that if he didn’t pay up that my mom would be evicted from the premises! I have their letter to prove it! Three eviction letters. This place is all show and no go.An investigation into their accounting department should be launched forthwith.A class action suit needs to be launched into how this facility conducts itself.There are no regulations as with government facilities.The highlight of this rating is I found Bloomington Cove where my mom is loved and cared by a trained and qualified staff. There are standards in this facility and mom has been a resident from March 2013to the present. Her costs have changed marginally since she first arrived, however, her costs are approx. $2500.00 all inclusive.A far cry from the $8000.00 dollar charges we left behind at Sunrise Senior Living in Aurora Ontario.We have to step up to the plate and speak for those who cannot. If we don’t who will?Lastly, this place is pure evil. Please don’t be fooled by their building and charade as this is a house and not a home for our loved ones.

Vary nice old age community. People are vary friendly and help full. They really take care of there patience
