Elkhorn Riding Adventures

We where just staying at Elkhorn resort for a few days and had hoped to be able to go for a sleighride. Unfortunately we found out that due to reasons beyond anyone’s control it was not available. Without any hesitation the gentleman who was feeding the horses told us how to get over so my kids could get close and pet the horses! He then brought us in and showed us the recent additions to the ranch. 2 of the cutest colts we’ve ever seen. He introduced us to the cat, dog and a bunch of horses. We had already been having a great trip but completely put it over the top for both my son and daughter! She’s 5 and he’s 3 and they haven't stopped talking about it for the past 2 days!! Thank you so much!!!

Friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful guides, chill horses, this place was everything we wanted from a trail ride as people with 0 riding experience.

We had so much fun at Elkhorn Riding Adventures! The family that runs the business takes great care of their horses and even makes sure to only put the well-mannered horses near public reach for the safety of anyone wanting to pet or take pictures of the horses. Their trail rides are also very well-organised and easy to book; you simply call ahead to reserve a timeslot on either Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday (sadly, they've had to cut down the days they do trail rides due to the heatwave and also due to covid affecting the business). The people who led the trail ride were extremely friendly and personable, I believe their names were Molly and Freddie. We hope to come back again in the winter because I hear they will likely be doing sleigh rides!!

The only place I would ever recommend to go for a trail ride in Clearlake!! The staff has worked there for so long and are so educated and passionate about what they do. They clearly love all the horses and it shows. The horses are so happy and healthy and you can just tell they are living their best lives. My boyfriend and I went on a ride with Molly and Freddie and they are so friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend coming here!
