Our father George was fortunate enough to have had 6 lovely months at Chalmers but as his condition changed after a long hospitalization he ended up requiring more care and is now in a new home. We visited him daily at Chalmers and were always impressed by how welcoming each and every staff member was. It truly is a wonderful place to live and we appreciate all the care and attention our dad was shown. He says now he really liked it there, and that really is high praise indeed, as he had moved to Chalmers from living at home and it was a huge transition. But it was the staff that smoothed the way!! Thank you all at Chalmers!!Our time there was relatively short but all your kind professionalism was very much appreciated and will not be forgotten.

My Aunt has been living at Chalmers Lodge for nearly two years now. She has really settled into what she refers to as her hotel". She get confused very easily and she can be repetitive

Chalmers Lodge was recommended for my friend by a Social Worker at the hospital she was in. What a remarkable place this has been for my friend. She needed a safe place where her medications would be dispensed as prescribed as her memory was affected by some small strokes. The food is amazing and I say that as I have eaten there several times and she concurred. For all the family and friends from out of town there was a room for them to stay in while visiting, making it feel like a home not an institution. Mostly it is the personal connection that all the staff make with her, her family and her friends that creates this sense of belonging which is huge when moving from an independent life to one where you require assistance for your health and well being. Location wise it has a lot to get you out for...coffee shops, library, Chapters and her favourite.shoe stores. She likes it, I like it. The building is older and rooms seem to be getting updated often and there are other areas that are a bit worn looking however from my perspective that is superficial compared with the quality of care and the great location and food.
