Wonderfully informative and patient allowing me make my debut into the hobby / pastime that much smoother. Was shown a wonderful variety of pipes and tobaccos and would recommend this place for beginners and aficionados alike. The fact that this is a 5th generation local business with pipes that are made in-house just adds to the atmosphere. There's no facade or pretentiousness here, just genuine appreciation for the craft. Will happily be coming back to try more blends in the near future.

A Montreal destination. Knowledgeable and helpful staff. This tobacconist still designs and handcrafts his own briar pipes. I came here for gifts - pipes and cigars - was well advised and found rare and beautiful pipes like this unsmoked meerschaum!

A cigar afficionado who vistited a few cigar shops during my first time in Montreal. One place - on the main strip - treated me like a woman who knows nothing about cigars"....very disrepectful. Blatter & Blatter's customer service was unmatched - very informative and great care in helping me decide which pipe to get. Not only did I purchase a pipe from them I also puchased cigars. Owner knows his stuff and will explain them to you if you ask. He took some time to explain instructions regarding getting into pipe smoking and the maintenance related with it. Knowledgeable and good quality stuff. Probably the best place in Montreal to buy pipes. He also has a great selection of pipe tabacco, with some aromatic home blend that I'm sure would get people noticing what you're smoking.

What an amazing shop! The last pipe maker in Canada! Peter Blatter is still making beautiful pipes and working the front counter. Their mid-quality pipes are very reasonably priced (about $70 US) and the higher end pipes run up towards $200 US ($250 Canadian).

This is a fantastic shop and an essential stop if you're in Montreal! There's so much to see and learn. And they make their own superb, high-quality pipe tobacco blends - something that's exceedingly difficult to find. That type of know-how is itself a rare commodity!

Can't say enough about this place! Legendary pipe makers! Always a warm welcome, great advice and a fine selection of pipe tobacco and cigars. Don't let the small size fool you. A must!
